Has anybody installed a rear camera on their 5600 toolcat? Any suggestions as to the best spot to mount it? I am debating between putting one up on the top of the back of the cab vs putting it low by the receiver hitch. Thanks.
TCRanger: I am presently working through this issue. Since we run our TC in winter with a sand/salt spreader which has a low hung spiner that would interfere with a low camera, that alternative was dismissed in favor of mounting camera on back of cab up near the top, but not high enough to be hit by tree branches. However, it seems the bigger question is what type of monitor and best location. The Chinese make a 7" and a 4.3" that can be mounted in cab upper right corner or on dash, respectively. But there is another country that makes a rear view mirror which includes a monitor screen that provides better resolution. Looking to buy Made in USA. Hope to resolve this issue later this week.

regarding ruffdog's post. i mounted a 3' whip antenna on the outer edge of my finish mower. makes a perfect sight device to tell where the edge is. has worked great for 3 years.

Here is what my dealer installed on mine. I have been happy with the placement of both the camera and monitor.

Thanks for the pix. Just from looking at them it would seem that a monitor screen that large would obstruct view of attachments. Regarding the camera, it looks exposed. Is it magnetically mounted so that it can be easily relocated? In winter I have a spreader in cargo bed which has a spinner that hangs low enough to block camera view. Does raising cargo bed block camera view? What brand? Is it made in China? Thanks for your reply.

I have no concerns about the screen placement. It doesn’t obstruct the view out the front window very much. My dealer suggested putting it in that spot. After using it for the past 6 months, I wouldn’t want the screen placed anywhere else. I will post another picture that might show it better. It is a Visonworks Camera that I believe are made in Oregon. Mine is hard mounted but I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t be magnetically mounted. Raising the cargo bed doesn’t obstruct the camera at all. The camera is adjustable so I can angle it up or down as much as I want. Makes it nice for hooking up trailers. It is a little exposed but so far it hasn’t been a big problem. I could see situations where it could get covered in mud/snow. I have only had to wipe off the screen once after driving a few miles in slushy snow. Sorry about the dirty windshield on the pic, looks like I should clean it.
