Did the Covid shot make you cranky?

I was cranky from not getting my first vaccination earlier... My 2nd one is now less then 2 weeks away. Thanks to all who got them!!

I’m 52 and was already infected last spring. I don’t plan on taking the vaccination at all!

How did the sickness present itself?

Wife and I had the Moderna. We both got the first shot in the left arm and the second shot in the right. Sore arms after each. We both had a mild temperature off and on about a week after the second shot. The pain in our left arms took longer to go away and kept coming back off and on even after we got our second shot in the right.

Can't say either of us were cranky due to the shot but I might have been now that you mention it. Seems I went through a spell of crankiness but I didn't think to tribute it to the vaccine.

Wife Pfizer 1st shot, now that you mention it, it did seem like she was much more energized later in the first day of shot and day later. Her second shot had slight flu like symptoms.

If you've already been infected with covid, those people will feel much more ill from the vaccination because your bodies defense see's it as a known virus. But feeling poorly for few days, is still far better than getting covid again and ending up in the hospital,, or dying. Plus infecting other people around you, including the healthcare workers. It now appears that people who got vaccinated and got it anyway, might not be spreading it. This is still an unknown factor.

I also get a flu shot yearly.

Moderna Sore arm, couldn't lay on it to sleep. Much better the next morning but it was a lazy day for sure. Couldn't force myself to accomplish anything the whole day and didn't care. Wife got a headache right away that went away with an ibuprofen, otherwise the same.

For the first shot (Pfizer) I had a very sore arm and felt a little off the next day. Waiting for shot #2 now.

I'm relieved that it's actually happening and maybe if enough people get it, we can get back to sort of normal later this year.

I had my first dose last week and noticed I was more irritable than usual for a day or two. Did anyone else have that experience?

My wife told me to be well hydrated before and after the injection and to rub it. I combined those steps with spinning my arm like half of a propeller when it began to get sore and it didn't get any worse.

Infected from my wife when she was a frontline medical worker. She wore scrubs, a face shield, glasses, gloves, and two masks but still got it.

If you can smell through your mask, it isn’t working. Olfactory particles are giants compared to Covid viruses.

Wife and I have had both shots for over a month now. I asked her if I was more cranky after the shots, she said I've had about the same amount of crankiness for the 41 years we've been together. I think I'll just let the subject drop!

Well, at least you recognize it. That's good.

When I had COVID, I just wanted to sleep all the time. Head felt like I was under water too long, with stuffed up ears and sinuses for about 5-7 days. Got really tired doing anything. That was in Nov/Dec. Took about 3-4 weeks to feel like myself again. When I got the shots last month, the first one, I was fine for 12 hours, then felt like I had COVID again for about 12 hours, then was back to fine again. 2nd shot I had no effects other than a bit lethargic the next day. Sore arm at the shot location though, both times, for about 2-3 days.

Almost no one I know had the same symptoms as the next person for both. COVID and/or the shots. It really isn't a cookie cutter illness. My wife had COVID at the same time I did, and just last week she said things no longer smell like cigarettes. That was 4 months before things started smelling better to her.

Good luck with your symptoms. Most people I've spoken with had different reactions to 1st and 2nd shots, so you'll probably be fine 2nd time.

Thanks Moss. Being cranky was the worst symptom I had and I got over it before challenging anybody to a gunfight so, I'm good.

Boy! That would be one H*LL of a defense. "I got my COVID shot and just felt like I had to go out and shoot somebody". Hmmmmm....... I wonder-----------
