Our press secretary said this today about the shooting of a 16 year old girl about to plunge a long knife blade into another girl and was shot by police:

"Let me just say, since you gave me the opportunity, the killing of 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant by the Columbus police is tragic. She was a child," Psaki said. "We know that police violence disproportionately impacts Black and Latino people and communities and that Black women and girls like Black men and boys experience higher rates of police violence."

So I am wondering why that is?I wonder why Black men and boys (and I guess girls too in this case) experience higher rates of police violence. Maybe some of you folks on here that like to point out racism all the time would care to comment?

I can share my thoughts before you reply. I believe why black people encounter disproportionate levels of police action is because in general black people as a group are involved in a disproportional level of crime than their percentage numbers of the whole community would suggest. That is my thoughts, and if you want to call me racist, that is your prerogative. I don't think I am racist, but I realize some of you do.
I don't believe it is racist to discuss what the math adds up to. Only knowing you through TBN I highly doubt you are a racist; yet you do see things from your point of perspective that I may not see. But... I do agree with your math above. Until certain issues are addressed and dealt with within the black community we will see more of this type of violence.

Same reason why I crapped my pants when I ended up getting lost in Camden NJ at 0100 by taking the wrong bridge out of Philly. I don't scare that easy, but when I looked at my surroundings, I was crapping bricks. Came across a cherry top with what looked to be a man with no neck, he took one look at me and pointed which way to get out of dodge.

Swear to God, even at that time of the night, it looked like a war ravaged city.
Lots of places like Camden NJ in America... more than you can imagine.

I've been to Camden, NJ and agree it's a rough place. I felt the same way when I visited Jackson, Mississippi. Only place I've been where I felt I needed to conceal carry at a McDonalds and my hotel lobby had armed security after dark.

The problem with the universal background check is the fact that it cannot work without total universal gun registration. Given that many Americans don't trust the universal registration roles not to be used as universal confiscation lists when the "time is right" I don't think universal background is going to have an easy time of it. And just how many are going to list every firearm they own? All? Were some lost in that boating accident? How about "there was a fire"? or maybe just "I don't own that one any more".

Many Americans don't doubt for a moment that many politicians of a certain stripe want to confiscate all privately held firearms currently held. Remember "M rand Mrs America, turn them all in!" ? It was said by a prominent US senator you know. So why shouldn't we take them at their word? I do.

Tell me please where there is a flaw in my logic.
I know many people are concerned about a registration list being used to eventually confiscate firearms. I'm more concerned with firearms getting into the hands of people that shouldn't have them than I am of the government knowing I purchased a new firearm in the coming years. They wouldn't know about any of my old ones, or the other approximately 400,000,000 guns already in private hands, until they are sold to others.

I observe the “news” media recently portraying evangelicals in a negative way because of recent voting patterns. Some don’t like those voting patterns and are trying to destroy them and make it more difficult for them to worship.

Exactly! 100%.

Several times we've been forced off the highways into the south side of Chicago due to car accidents. No other way out. Not all that bad if you just keep driving and mind your own business. I'm way more cautious in Gary. Detroit was surreal.

Yep... been there, done Jackson, myself. It's just one of hundreds though.

I don't follow.

The answer there is to hang the lynch mob from the same tree.

I'm sick of hearing about injustice to black people. My ancestors were here before white or black people, and they got slaughtered and had their land literally stolen. Yet, we don't see native American folks marching in the streets and burning cities do we?

In order to have freedom for all, you must enforce justice for all. If the law carries no consequence and no weight, then your society is doomed.

Well said.

And the cycle keeps churning...

This in the other days paper.

Fact is, even in little old Winston, the deaths are from black teens killing black teens.
Not like it's a new phenomenon, either...

Me, I'm not concerned at all. The BATFE knows exactly what I own including my full automatics. I hold a BATFE Class 3 license so I have to (by law) record everything and submit it to them. I don't own anything that isn't legally registered. The boating accident scenario don't work btw as you have to show a paper trail.
