I found HFT's 18" x 24" moving dolly to be about right for their 20T press for ~ the cost of casters alone. It started out as being temporary, but I kept buying them to put under welders, pumps, etc that I didn't have carts for. I'm with Mark, have rollers under one mill, and drill press, welders, torches, generator, band-saw, and many benches & cabinets are on wheels. (gotta sweep, esp when woodworking in a small space)

My lathes, cutter grinder and reloading bench are about the only things I can't lift that aren't on wheels. Y'know I envy everyone for having more shop floor-space .. well, except for Mark who needs more too.

btw, I like the short HFT (purple) nylon slings for lifting heavy or odd-shaped stuff. Using them and a digital scale I can weigh anything up to 1,000 Kg (1 ton) that an FEL or shop crane can lift. I recommend both vs wondering what something weighs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Q7HVZ7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When I built the caster base for my 20 Ton HF Press .. I used my HF shop crane to pick up the press and just rolled the base under it and bolted it down.

You don't have a scale built into your forklift? Or you just haven't bothered to weigh it?
NEXT PROJECT!!!! There ya go Terry!

TOG, I forgot about my wood lathe... it is not on wheels either and I need to mobilize it as it is blocking me from moving big stuff in/out of the shop.

Pics/nomenclature or it's a HFT wood lathe and your tools are too. (got lapping wheel? ;) ) Do you ever turn resin, burls, or bowls? I know, custom furniture/accents is fun if you can get the wood for it.

btw, I'm a metal guy like Terry, but I'm a lathe guy too.

I'll steal Terry's idea and use rollers. All I need is to move it forward away from the wall and then move it back when done.
