Good morning!!!!

Was 35F, overcast, and raining @ 10:30 this morning. Calling for a high of 43F for the day.

When I got up, the rain was coming down at a pretty good clip ... accompanied by large snowflakes ... ... looked rather bizarre.
I could almost have predicted it, RS. Growing up in the '70s in Central Ohio, I got hooked riding the Tour of the Scioto River Valley, TOSRV. It was, and still is, a two day, 210 mile round trip bicycle ride from Columbus to Portsmouth, with food stops along the way and luggage service to carry your sleeping bag and overnight stuff. It was notorious for the weather. It almost always rained, but tornadoes were not uncommon, and I think it snowed a time or two, but not while I was riding it. I see it's been rescheduled for September this year, another Covid casualty, so watch out for bad weather that weekend, too!

70 and sunny with a good breeze.

Had a lot of Mother’s Day things to do today. I still have to visit my late wife. Hard to believe this is the fourth Mother’s Day since she passed.
It’s the first time in my 68 years that I couldn’t go visit my mom, she was always there, somehow I think she still is.

My 9 year old grandson has always been an excellent ball player. This year they have him in the pitching rotation. Last game his team was up two runs in the last inning. The other team loaded the bases with no outs, coach put Tanner in to pitch and he struck out three straight. I know nobody else cares, but I’m a proud pop pop.

Fun to watch the kids play ball. I helped with all my kids sports.

Pretty good day....finished the lawn mowing and took down a couple branches (with the pole saw) that hit the tractor's cab when I went down to the field yesterday. Not enough to bother chipping though.
I was actually heading to the field (in the Gator) to trim some branches that were too big for the chipper (described in this morning's post). Neighbor had already picked 'em up for firewood and his picnic area.
Both his and our properties border the White River tributary. He can access the river. Our property was too badly damaged (maybe not the proper terminology) when Hurricane Irene hit Vermont years ago. I'd need a bulldozer to clear it up...also, too many widow-makers (trees) down there. But, when my neighbors have a campfire going, I'll drop by for a beer and shooting the bull...

Got the back field mowed this afternoon. It was very tall, had to mow slower. Piled up the pine limbs I cut a week ago, will grab with grapple next time it’s on.

Weekend goes by so fast.

LOL ... (y)

Was watching the local news earlier ... apparently got a good bit of snow up north of here (primary Lake Erie snow belt) ... to the point that it pretty much covered the ground.

Could see similar again tonight.
