Many of us "slide" down, or "slip", in these small tractor seats and it sure is annoying. My B7800 has done that since new and even a factory recall and new seat didn't help much. When I mow the lawn pulling a 7' mower, I slide down and have to pull myself up multiple times. Well, I might have found a fix for that.

I pulled a leg muscle and decided a small throw pillow on the seat might help my leg and it did. Then, I immediately noticed I didn't slide down in the seat. Maybe a little after 30 minutes but nothing like before. Maybe it's the pillow, maybe the fabric or maybe sitting higher changes the slipping dynamics. I don't know but it works for me and stops maybe 95% of my slipping.

It's just a simple pillow I think we bought for the dog. It appears to be small lumpy foam inside and is a slightly thicker fabric. It may or my not work for you so this is FYI only. Picture below.

I use a seatbelt when going up/down hill and don't slide at all.

I raised the front of the seat on all 3 Kubotas I've had.

EDIT: Here's some info

Very good, Chim. I either changed the angle just enough to the pillow fabric slowed down the sliding aspect. Either way, great creativeness fixing your seats and that's what I'm going to do. I'm simply all out of mental energy with this sliding seat thing.

I really like Kubota but strongly dislike the seat on my B7800. I have bigger and newer tractors that are OK so is this a smaller tractor thing or maybe an older and smaller tractor thing?

The seat belt will definitely do the job!
My ZT SCAG mower has the same issue.
I modified the seat angle/pitch, and moved the seat back 1-1/2"

Depending on what I'm wearing I'll slide. Jeans not so much, but when I'm mowing during the summer I'm usually wearing running shorts so I slide around a lot more. It also doesn't help that I'm 115 lbs soaking wet... yes, I look like I need to eat a healthy dose of junk food... lol

Yeah, the seatbelt helps. I should probably wear it more around my pond and ditches.

Seat-slide off is caused by a seat tilted too far downward at front or your legs dangling. Your feet should be firmly placed on the floor tub.

Actually my wife took a used bath towel and sewed it to fit the seat (Grammer air ride) in my M9 cab. Saves the seat from wear and dirt, comes off in a second to wash and you don't slide around. Really a good and cheap upgrade. made another for the open station but I take it off when the unit is parked and cover the seat with a large plastic garbage bag as the barn cats like to sleep on the exposed seat and get it haired up...

Go to one of the auto parts stores and by a cloth seat cover. I kept my OOS tractor under a shed so my cover never got wet but you can slip those things off and on. And they will keep you from sliding and keep your leggs from sticking to the vinyl seat if your wearing shorts.

How can you be so uncaring about puddy tat comfort?;)
Don't they provide a much needed service for you, by keeping the mousies from your wiring harnesses?

Now that everyone mentions it, I heard of a seat cover that fit the M sized Kubota and Grammar seats like a glove and was a great cover. It either came from Cabelas or Duluth Trading Co but not sure which. I think Duluth but I have Cabela truck covers on my truck and they are wonderful. No sliding in those covers.

On my 2001 BX2200 the plastic seat started to show cracks. I taped them all up but, the seat looked terrible. Started looking for a new seat but then I found seat covers (can't remember the brand) that cover the whole seat plus a zippered compartment and two storage pockets at back of seat. Both the BX and L3800 have the same gray covers in two sizes. They are very nice and no slipping at all. Have had them for at least 10 years and show no significant wear at all.

The first thing my tractors get is a seat cover and a rubber floor mat.

Where do you get a rubber floor mat? Factory or homemade?

I found my last one at Autozone I believe it was. I think it was a mat for the back of an SUV but it was almost the exact size. I had to razor knife trim it just a bit.
