Anyone try to buy a trailer lately?

Just bought a 2021 CAM 18' dual axel 9.9k# (GVW) auto transport -- dealer was selling them as fast as they could unload them and get the wheels on. Had a one week wait, but that was lucky. Paid sticker. Quite a bit higher than $2500... more like $4k.

Patients grasshopper... Not sure if this will give you hope or not but I ordered a B2601 June 1st, 2020 and took delivery November 14th 2020... ALMOST 6 months. Mine was definitely worth the wait and I think you will find yours to be as well!
I'm sure it will, but I had several projects planned where it would have been quite useful! Improving an existing Swale I dug by hand, top dress and level the lawn, spread quite a few yards of mulch, cut out some Bermuda and replace with centipede sod, and a few other things.

Now that I have a tractor on the way I refuse to do it all with shovels rakes and wheelbarrows like I have been .

Otoh, I'm quite thankful that I already have the trailer. I've used it quite a bit already.

Forgot to add.. sold my 6x10 deck-over dump (9996# gross) for just a couple bills less than I paid for it new. It was a 2014 but in spectacular condition (for a 7 year old, well loved and used, dump). Had some cash left over after buying the 18' above.

I bought a 14K Kauffman dump trailer last fall. The wait was 12 weeks back then. Kaufman is 30 miles from
My house and they have the best prices. Also like to support a local company. 25 weeks is nuts. Very happy with the trailer so far. I’ve already hauled more than 250 tons of gravel, fill dirt, and mulch over the past few months to our property building a road and adjacent flower beds. I should have bought the trailer years ago.

I just ordered a trailer yesterday. Builder told me 2 weeks or less. I ordered a 20ft, 2ft dovetail at a shallow angle. Rub rails, extra d rings, stake pockets, winch plate, spring assist ramps and spare tire. 12k load capacity which should be enough I hope. I like this guy because he does good paint and uses decent tires. I'm kinda a tire freak.

im trying to get a wood max mx8800 chipper. Been told it’s 3-4 months out. But at least I’m on waiting list.
It's worth the wait. Mine came in last week. I have only used it a bit, but it's been great so far.

That's been going on since 2015. I seldom see trailers on CList anymore in a 3 region wide area across states.

Now, farm auctions in the area do post them. So many farmers retiring, dropping out of the industry or tossing in the towel in the past 2 years.
Up here in WI, 8 dairy farms a day on average have closed up for good. It's gotten so bad that CA produces more milk and cheese now.

Sad to hear. The yellow and white stuff produced in California doesn't qualify as either cheese or milk. It's basically disgusting. I import all of my cheese from Wisconsin...

Ya, ill have to keep using my Jimna 6 till then. I was hoping to sell the Jimna now as I just replaced the blades and it’s working great. The Jimna has always ran great, I just need a larger I feed.

Took me 6 months to get my 26' 16k speedloader built. I rented a couple of these trailers to get an impression on strength and quality of build. Very nice. But - from the pics I've seen of my trailer, quality may have gone out the window. Welds look like someone's first attempt at laying a bead. Paint prepping seems non-existent. Judge for yourself.

Actually much of the cheese is now IMPORT to WI from PA. PA is now becoming the cheese capital in the USA. Especially the organic. So many restrictions on milk production in WI now that the dairies are closing up and people have gotten out of the business. Regulations that have forced good milk to be dumped without receiving any payment either. Lost farmer revenue to keep the operations going.
