Bobcat CT2040
I would like to install rear hydraulic remotes on my CT2040. Is the kit that Bobcat provides complete with everything needed? I tried to get an installation manual in advance of buying the kit but Bobcat will not provide it.

You can search the remotes in the online parts shopping tool Bobcat has, it shows an exploded view and looks pretty complete to me. I just installed the backhoe on my CT2025 and the hydraulics where straight forward with the parts provided and instructions. I did have to improvise because the instructions didn’t include installing together with rear remotes which I have, but it was just one connection I needed to change

Thanks Snowlan! I haven't been able to locate the exploded view yet. Where did you find it?

Not sure if I copied this link correctly, but I will also include a screenshot.

It's complete but it's also very expensive.

I can’t comment on the price, my CT2025 was quoted with the rear remotes included and the total price was still less than the equivalent Kioti, but I don’t know the item price.

The on line build and price tool puts dealer installed remotes at about $1000 CAD. By the time you eliminate install fee I can’t see saving a lot of money going third party.

I can say that other options I did have priced included a substantial install fee, so there was good savings if you can install yourself.

The factory rear remotes are very nice. It’s all hard tubing, brackets nice and solid, and control levers coming through slots in right fender. Hard not to like it.

I had the rear remotes installed at purchase time. Had a quick glance at the block last night and didn't see a P port to install my 3rd function when it arrives from Summit. I'll have a closer look tonight. I am worried that the factory rear-remote kits used up all my P ports!

BTW, if anyone wants to pitch in and buy a service manual for a CT2035H from the link above, I'd be willing to share cost.

Not sure where the factory 3rd function is normally installed, but I had a similar situation with my back hoe hydraulics. Stock, the unused oil comes out of the loader valve block and connects to a fitting under the seat which supplies the 3 point hitch. The rear remotes break that circuit, the oil from FEL then supplies the rear remotes and then the remote block discharges to the 3 point fitting under the seat via a tube. To install the backhoe (and a 3rd function would work the same way) this tube is removed, the outlet from the rear remotes supplies the new valve block, and the new valve block will then discharge back into that fitting under the seat.

It's important to maintain that path back to the fitting under the seat or the 3 point hitch will stop working.

The backhoe has a third hose connection for direct to tank, not sure if your third function will have that. If so, the FEL valve block has a direct to tank that is used for the spent oil when using it and the direct to tank port of your new valve block can connect there. Fairly easy to determine that tank port on the FEL block if you follow the connections. Supply coming from the pump, 4 ports coming/going to the FEL functions, a port supplying your rear remotes, the last remaining port is direct to tank.
