That's the case in your state... as I mentioned before, viewpoints change as you go from east to west.
It's one thing to express viewpoints here though, and another to act on them. In a few years I hope to have a lot more free time and plan to do some traveling, to visit some of the things I've only heard about; I really would like to get out to the west coast and see their trees. When in Rome, do as the Oregonians do...

No, I don't intentionally break laws. Well, except maybe for speed limits... I was trying to make a play on words from "When in Rome do as the Romans do", referring to Rome Oregon.

Reading the posts from various people gives me an idea of how other people live.

We live on a lake, a big, public, and sometimes busy lake. My wife still wants me to chase boaters out of 'our' cove. Maybe some purple buoys for her for xmas

Piloon - out here it's a waste of time to bury anything that dies. I spent half a damn day digging a four foot deep hole - buried a skunk. Two days later the coyotes had dug it up and carried it off. There is a small, grass covered mound on the far west end on my property. Everything that dies goes there.

The coyotes, hawks and whatever always take care of it - nothing ever remains on the mound.

No trespass means it's private property and you are not supposed to go beyond that sign IMO because the person who owns that property does not want you there.

I guess you needed to be there. He was basically saying that, yeah, he read the sign and understood it, but that for his purposes of hunting, in his mind, the sign said, or might have well said "Pigs for sale".

I have a similar heliport. If the coyotes don't get it, the hawks, vultures and owls do. I try to keep it far enough away to keep any skunks or possums from deciding to elbow in. The yellow jackets aren't too shabby either.

The turkey vultures are amazing to watch how far away they can home in on a scent.

It is very rare that anything is left after 24 hours.

I love to see nature in action.

Four strand barbed wire with electricity seems to work pretty well for keeping the strays out, at least the two legged ones, and the four legged pigs.

I have four strand - Ever Sharp barbed wire. Get caught up - get excited - it will do a number on you. I have the scars to prove that. I have too much fence line to be worrying about an electric top wire - mile and a half. Over hill, over dale, down gulches and out and across a large lake.

2Lane - back in OK you might/could get away with that type of thinking. Around here it will DEFINITELY have serious consequences.

The issue IMO is that some parents think that their own kids can do no wrong.

As adults, I think we tend to foget what kind of crap we use to pull as kids ourselves (OK, maybe I was the only problem child here LOL).

I can still remember Mr. Brill in shop class when I got that 36" wood paddle across my butt, and the aniticpation of getting whacked with it (don't remember what I did, but have no doubt I deserved it LOL). I can also remember my mom telling me to sit in my room and wait until my dad came home from work to deal with me (EDIT - The wait for my dad was worse because I had no clue what was going to happen LMAO).

I guess what I don't understand is why parents don't want teachers laying a hand on their kids who are legitimately in the wrong and causing a disruption in school.
