A Set of DIY brush forks was essential for me as I live in dire FIRE PRONE CALI. and keeping land clear of fire fuels is a definite "have to do" thing ....

Unfortunately for me, the closest I ever came to welding was running and fetching for the mechanics in my dads shop. Dad was more the Sales guy, his BIL managed the shop. I developed a healthy respect for guys who could do that stuff, but no aptitude.

Thanks guys. I had not really considered pallet forks, but it seems a lot of people find them indispensable.
Many folks (myself included) have more than one tractor, and always have pallet forks attached.
Forks are my most frequently used attachment.
11' dig sub frame backhoe is 2nd most frequently used.

When we bought it, my wife thought that the Branson was a toy for me. But then she saw what I could do with it vs the small Kubota we had and changed her mind. She thought the 8" chipper was a toy and the the 4.5" we had was fine until she saw in in action. Then she thought the grapple was a toy until I used it to pull a huge poison oak bush out of a tree we wanted to keep. She thinks the forestry winch I have on order is a toy but she'll probably change her mind when she sees what it will do. (or if I made her hand carry rounds out of the woods like I was doing when I decided I needed a winch).

See that is why I love this site. A logging winch will have to eventually be a thing for me, if I am understanding it correctly. I didn't even know they existed. I have mostly forested land and any tractor will be unable to reach parts unless I cleared it, which defeats the point of buying the land, for me. So this will help me pull out felled or downed timber remotely?
I think she will be onboard with the chipper and grapple options. I love it when it comes time to buy and I sic her on unsuspecting salesmen.

I have learned to appreciate, that 25 years ago the lead weigh around my neck left, for what she thought to be greener pastures.
I was devastated at the time!
Then, 21 years ago, I began renting a wonderful replacement, and still do.
No approval required for any purchases in past 21 years!

Ah, yes. Twenty-five years ago my wife and I went shopping for a tractor and several implements. At one dealer, the salesman took us around, talking only to me. His speel included mention that the FEL was so simple to remove that the secretaries in the office had done it, with a glace at my wife, who was then a division manager for AT&T. When we got to the office to talk price, he suddenly realized his mistake when it was my wife who whipped out the notebook and started recording what he offered. Needless to say, he didn't get the sale, though we did use his quote to advantage while negotiating with a different dealer. :)

‘This posted on YouTube a bit ago: Pallet forks is number one. I intend to make brackets on my fork attachment, for my “Add-a-grapple” next weekend.

Pallet forks
Ballast box
Landscape rake
And for me a grapple...but may not be for everyone.
I don't understand why you would get a ballast box and not a box blade or a tiller or both.
