Maybe so, but you will notice there is not as much quicksand now as there was in all the TV shows from the 60s and 70s. Definite proof of a warming trend.

That stalled Gulf Steam scenario especially concerns me. IIRC, it was the reason for the ice ages.

It's like the old joke about a mother admonishing her son for "abusing himself" and if he didn't stop doing it, he would go blind. The son replied that since it feels good, he would keep doing it until he "just needed glasses". If that global circulation stops, or even changes, it's too late for our dense-packed population.

Geez, just look at what happened with food distribution during the pandemic as producers had to shift from commercial sized packaging to grocery store package sizes. Or the ripple effect of bad political decisions making living conditions in just a tiny percent of the world untenable. We are totally dependent on nothing changing.

And gleefully finding a scientist that was wrong about something and projecting him onto all scientists all the time, well, that feels good too.

I consider myself open minded and have posted negative comments against climate change. I fully acknowledge man is probably having a negative impact on the earth and the climate MIGHT be getting warmer because of it. The problem is the “experts” seem to demand we agree with them that the earth is warming and their science is 100% irrefutable.

As a degreed climatologist, I could really get down in the weeds on this and explain why it's all B.S.

But let's take a simpler approach. How long has Earth been here? Some say millions of years, which I personally do not believe.

Furthermore scientific law states matter cannot be created nor destroyed. In other words, we can transform one thing into another (trees into lumber, oar into steel, herbs into medicines, etc.) but we can't create new things and we can't destroy what God has made. It's science. Therefore, humans cannot "destroy the planet" by simply living here.

Man, I really wanted to ignore this post and move on, but it's impossible. Just some of the most idiotic garbage imaginable.

Where's your degree from? Did you pass a basic physics class? Conservation of energy is very real, but you seem to conveniently ignore that our earth's energy COMES FROM THE SUN. We can either reflect it back into space, or trap it here. It's not actually that complicated; you are just choosing, intentionally, to believe what you want instead of real, provable data.

So you really worked hard to earn a proper climatology degree, and threw everything you learned away as nonsense? And chose to believe in a made up story book, instead of our best gathered data, and empirically tested research? Incredible.

OK, I guess you can debate the meaning of "destroy the planet". I mean we'd all agree that humans can't make the planet cease to exist but humans sure as hell can make it uninhabitable.

You all remember the last time the earth warmed up? Back when the arctic was green and warm? We are now growing our greenhouse gases 5 times than what caused that warming trend.

This thread would be easier to accept if we (south Texas) didn't have one of the coldest winters on record or coolest and wettest summers. We typically hit the 100+ temps by late March or early April and continues into September. I don't remember it hitting 100 yet this year. And I'm still mowing grass.

So your resistance is mostly attitude then. I think you might get trapped into listening to media hype where most dots and crosses are omitted in order to stay within the consumer attention span. It can easily drown out true expert opinion and how much they actually are trying to get it perfectly right. It takes a lot of attention to appreciate a substantive explanation. Even the very best briefer can appear suspect. Alas, they cannot weave a complex truth in one breath.
