His design is seriously lacking. Aside from the obvious shortcomings the loader needs to sit tight the wheels vs sticking off 3 feet.
It probably does just what he designed it to do. I doubt you know his design criteria to judge wether it lacking or not.

I know it would lift far more if the bucket was moved back.

Dont you get it? Maybe he does not need it to lift 'far more.'

Everything someone makes does not have to be the bestest ever design to lift the mostest or be the fastest, etc. He simply made a cool little loader. Y can't that just stand as a nice little piece of work for what it is?

I'm hoping that it is a photoshop. It is already overloaded and unstable.

I guess this was the motivation.

That might have been the motivation, but notice how much further back the lift arm "towers" are, and how much closer the bucket is to the front of the mower. This will allow for actually lifting a load of dirt. Not just a load of feathers. I imagine the electric zero turn's battery also offers some ballast. It turns the concept into something you can actually do some work with and do work that a tractor, even a small one would have a lot of trouble operating in confined spaces.

Even if he only wants to move buckets of feathers it would still be more stable and have better traction if it was moved back. But I’m really doubting the builder built this with the intent of moving feathers. They probably intended of actually doing work with this.

Kill joy ... It was fun building it. Waste of money but many fun things are...

Guarantee if a grown man was to go sit in that bucket, the rear wheels would come off of the ground. The FEL pivot point is way to far forward as is the bucket itself.

I would bet a dollar he was extremely disappointed with it the first time he used it. Lets ask him.

Never mind it's lifting capacity with any weight on those tiny narrow front castor wheels would leave trenches in all but the driest terrain, great way to spoil a good lawn, might work well with snow chains plowing snow?

Well, interesting. Not for me, but may work for the OP. But it must work for some, because apparently others have made ZT with a loader.

Lots of mulch in the background. If it'll scoop up some mulch and haul it to where he wants, its a big win. Don't see anything dangerous about it.

Probably works great & much faster than a shovel w/ wheelbarrow for lightweight topsoil / mulch / bark. It's obviously not intended to dig at all and my guess is that its capacity is 2-300# max (looks like about a 2 cu ft unheaped volume to me). My guess is that the idea is that it's quicker to deliver the light goods with less likelihood of dumping the barrow on the way, and then it spreads it very quickly.

As far as the tipping issue - ballast. The majority of the weight of the ZT is behind the pivot point; the operator is even slightly behind the pivot point. My guess is that if you put 500# in there it would be getting light, but you'd probably break it before it tipped forward.

Why is everyone a critic? This person actually got off their rear end and built something. Let them learn the shortcomings themselves. I think anyone who builds their own… should be commended!

Why should a failure be commended? If the goal was to ruin a lawnmower and build a useless loader he succeeded. Otherwise it’s a fail. It’s a pretty safe bet he actually planned on doing work with this vs moving feathers and possibly mulch. Just look how many newbies come here expecting to do the work of a D8 with their subcompact tractor.

If you had 5 mowers in a row I guarantee that one would get the most attention......😭🤪
