Thanks!
I don't think there's such a thing as 'clean coal'. There's 'cleaner than it used to be coal'. But I think coal should go away as a source for electricity. It's still needed for other things, but we could do way better with nuclear.Im almost 100% agreement with that.
Id like to see a shift on making power generation sources clean up their act FIRST, then lets see how the environment does, rather than make everyone go EV and recharge them with the same polluting power plants.
Make much more sense.
What the heck is the problem with nuclear power plants and cleaner burning natural gas plants getting built?

And I agree that forcing EVs on people isn't such a great idea, and I'm in agreement with you on the topic of affordability to people of lower incomes. Heck, we can afford new vehicles, we just find it economically foolish to buy them.
When I have $7000 total wrapped up in a 1993 Suburban that I bought 14 years ago, it ends up being $500 per year for transportation.
We spent the money on other things that meant more to us.
When EVs fall into that price category, I'll start looking at them.
I'm glad to hear somebody else finally saying that. We laugh at California and their laws, yet our diet would be a lot more boring if not for their agriculture. Perhaps if people stopped eating so much, farmers wouldn't need so much water!I partially agree that its sad that desert was turned to farmland, but what are we supposed to eat?
Theres 300+ million people in this country alone. We have to have food to survive. That may be "sad" to you, but its a necessity for survival.
Maybe another viewpoint, one would say "its sad theres so many people in LA and San Fran wasting so much water which could be used to grow food"???
California IS the most populous state. Maybe some of the more whiny ones complaining about heat and drought could move to Alaska? Theres lots of room there for people and its much cooler and more rainy.
Yet they stay in CA, consuming water and food and complaining 24/7 about heat, fires, and water shortages.
Adding to the problem the millions of new voters, I mean consumers/eaters coming in over the southern border each year, supposedly "climate refugees" LOL.I'm glad to hear somebody else finally saying that. When most of us hear the word "desert" we think of dry sand and Arabia type climates. Yet farmland wouldn't be as productive on the west coast if there weren't nutrients in their soil.
Why would they come here?Adding to the problem the millions of new voters, I mean consumers/eaters coming in over the southern border each year, supposedly "climate refugees" LOL.
If the climate here in the US is such a mess, why would they come here?
It takes 3.2 gallons of water to grow one California almond. One.
Yikes!
Well, there's opposing views to that, of course. They cite that the tree is using the water, not the almond itself. That's kinda like saying you don't have to count the water a cow drinks or the food it eats to produce a gallon of milk.
Anywho, while California feeds a huge portion of the nation, it's at quite a cost to the natural resources available.
