So, some people think actively passing is going any amount faster than the guy to the right. If I am driving a truck or towing something, I just settle into the pace of whomever is a head of me in the right lane. If I know I am going to be slow, I avoid cities except in the wee hours when commuters are asleep...sometimes it is about courtesy for others even above the legal part. I don't want to be the jerk getting in your way. Maybe you are rushing to say goodbye for the final time. If I am actively passing and someone is behind me and gaining, I accelerate to get around as quickly as possible and move over. I never really understood people getting upset about pulling back into the right lane too quickly...if I am going faster than you and I can see pavement between us in the rearview, it is my job to get back into the travel lane ASAP. While we are on it, has anyone else noticed people who drive fast until they approach a truck, they start to pass, but then slow to just barely faster than the truck?...once past the truck, they speed up again... I want as little time next to a truck as possible. Oh, and what's that clicking noise? In most state its that way.
