The link doesn't work, but China is shutting down factories because of power shortages, Europe is going to run out of fuel this winter, and the US will barely squeak by if we don't have any emergencies. Our diesel/fuel oil reserves are off 20% heading into fall. The era of cheap carbon is drawing to a close. Escalating fossil fuel prices will accelerate the change. When gasoline hits $6/gallon, people are going to be lining up to buy EVs.

I’d buy a Tesla long before a bmw or Mercedes, but none of those 3 will happen any time soon.

I see a lot of places where the car is not even parked in the garage. There's too much junk in the garage.
Another dream of city living.
Tesla's Wall Connector is outdoor rated. They now offer one with a shorter umbilical but IIRC the standard is 25'. Mine reaches either of 2 spots in my double garage or out the door to the Tesla backed up to the garage door. There are 4 places I can park the Tesla for which my WC reaches.

I've never seen a dead Tesla along the highway, but a surprising number of Mercedes Benz. My cousin bought a Mercedes and it got towed twice in the 2~3 years she owned it. She didn't have kind things to say about it.

I have a question: Do any of the modern EV's have a spare tire? Fancy cars like BMW etc? No spare onboard might be a deal breaker for me.
My 2013 Tesla Model S does (did) not. Nor did my 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320. When "dual motor" was added to the Model S line the frunk shrunk. No room up front for a spare tire. Mine predates dual motor (4 wheel AWD).

I currently carry one of the original tires in the frunk without a rim, jack, or lug wrench. Would buy a rim but don't really care enough to shop hard enough to find one at the price I'm willing to pay. Is 245/45-19, not a size Walmart usually stocks. Any shop could mount it, I have the tools myself at home. Am also practiced at installing tire plugs on my tubeless motorcycle tires. And changing tubeless motorcycle tires (nearly 60 on motorcycles the past 5 years, 4 on my toy hauler travel trailer, 4 on my Prius). Carry 12V inflator and plug kit.

News flash: motorcycles don't carry spares either.

Years ago while staying at a motel I met a woman from New Brunswick who was travelling to Quebec in her brand new BMW convertible. She trashed a tire in a construction site and had to wait 3 days to get a new one. If I spent that much money on a car and it left me stranded because it takes special tires I wouldn't own it very long... probably about one hour longer than it took to get the new tire on.
Yeah, that is why I carry a 40,000 mile tire no-rim in my Tesla.

In today's shareholders meeting Elon Musk said about 40 years for the gas cars to be off the road. It will be 20 years before they stopped making gas and then another 20 years to wear out those. We're talking about 2061 which will be my 110th birthday party time.

Plugging motorcycle tires? THAT's a big mistake.

0ur Leaf has no spare naturally but it does come with an air compressor and a bottle of green goop.

That goes against everything that I ever learned... a Harley rider actually got on my case about that very thing. The funny thing about Harley guys; they may ride and act different than we'd like, but they take care of their machines.
