My father had a construction company and they used dynamite for blasting out big boulders and large tree stumps. I think I still have some 8mm film of a few blasts. He also bought it at the local hardware store, and we usually had a box iof it in the basement. I remember it was always packed in sawdust.

My brother found a stick in an old abandoned house. He laid it on a stump and lit with a match. All it did was burn. That's when I found thatburning dynamite does not set it off - takes a blasting cap.

I went to my bank to pay my phone bill on Tuesday and they were closed and had been on the Thursday Dec23 as well.
This time I saw a sign on the door stating they'd re open next Tuesday, Jan 11!
That's 13 days!
\Blamed on COVID ???
OK, they have 2 ATM's (with only one working) and you had to be a midget to work it as it was so low.
OK so I gather the low one is for chair patients but as it was the only one functional they could have provided a chair as it is hard to tap the touch screen looking down and inverting your hands.
More frustrating was that the dang thing was on coffee break or something as I had to tap multiple times to pay a bill and then when I wished to make a deposit it shut down.

Time to change banks!

I used to go to a QuikTrip gas station to use their ATM when I needed cash, which was very very seldom and there was no charge for getting cash from my credit union that way. However, about a month and a half ago I tried to do that and it wouldn't accept my card. So the next day I stopped by one of my credit union's offices (not the main office) and the young lady there had no idea what happened but told me to call the main office. Well, I didn't call, but got to looking on their website at places that I could use my card at no cost, and to my surprise, QuikTrip no longer, but even more other places, including one within sight of the QuikTrip I can no longer use, AND I found a list all over the nation that I can use with no fees.

The bank I was already in the process of leaving (they closed the nearby branch, now it’s 20 miles) just hit me with a $25 minimum balance fee for December plus $3 paper statement fee. There were several very nice perks but required a $5000 minimum. Time to speed up the closing.

I agree, shucks some banks even offer a bonus or perk to get your business, usually the simply ask that U have a minimal amount in the acct.
There is one local one that offers a $250. 'perk' to get U to shift.
I'll have to look into that.
Look into credit unions also.

That sounds like the offer for an AMEX card I received today. All sorts of features and I thought that maybe I would upgrade rather than just turn my current card in. Then I read about the $95.00 annual fee...
No thanks. There are plenty of free cards out there, I don't need to pay to use theirs. I have too many cards anyways and am starting to weed them out; and AMEX still isn't accepted at a lot of places.
