Yee Haw, finally a break in the weather. A balmy -1c with some wind. Spent a couple hrs clearing some drifts and a path to a bin that has some deer feed. Path to the burn barrels was impassable too.

Still does here but we don't get as much as we used to. Cross country ski paths are still in bad shape.

It was bitterly cold here for a week or 2. Coldest day was -37*C and it stayed below -25*C for about a week. Ran into some tractor issues at those temps and ended up needing a new return line for the injectors. While waiting for the part the snow kept building up and by the time I got the tractor running again there was about 18" to 24" of snow on the ground. Kept the tractor busy for 3 days moving that nice light snow and then the warm weather came along with rain. Woke up one morning to about 5" of fresh wet snow and rain pouring down. Wasn't sure if the inverted blower would blow that wet crap but to my surprise I did the whole driveway without any issues. That's 3 km of blowing heavy wet slop. I was very impressed and happy that I didn't have to plow it and leave at the sides of the driveway.

Guess I shouldn't complain about our up and down weather. Cycles of a couple cold days followed by a couple to warm days. But not extreme like you have had Hilbilly. Can't make a good winter road this year. Get snow enough and then it rains followed by a fast freeze or just warms up like today and it packs into ice.

WOW, saw some vids from DesMoines on the snow storm. Be careful out there.

Wow, I see you are in Canada. My dog is adopted from National Brittany Rescue. They wanted to send her to Canada. She wouldn't go. Said it was too much snow. So she stayed with me in Missouri. Then we had snow last night - 4 inches. She seems to like it.
What is the usual annual snowfall up there?

According to sources, three to four ft. Seat of the pants when you have to clear it up, lots E0ACEDF3-CFFC-45AB-ADA1-5F8076CF19F7.jpeg

Seems like you get the same as we do. According to the local weather channel, we get somewhere between 42" and 48" on average but 2 years ago we got 48" in 24 hrs. That was a surreal experience.

Here in SE Wi only a couple inches so far this year. Rare to get so little. I visited relatives several yrs ago, about this time of year, in Watertown NY. I was warned about the lake effect snow that they get. We ended up following two plows clearing the interstate the last 10mi. They would tag team that 10mi, two up, two down, turn around, repeat. That night every truck, tractor, and excavation eq that could be fitted with a plow was out. By morning 48" was gone and it was business as usual.

They must have gotten all of that that year. Have pictures clearing the walkway out the front door with the snowblower. No-one and no eq. visible, just the snow flying up and out.

We had -20* F the last two mornings with highs of -5. Tomorrow they say will get up to +40 with snow and/or rain. Somewhere between 1 and 12 inches. They don't know. I've never seen such a winter.
