I call it a 20 foot paint job--It looks good from 20 feet away.

Three hours of snow clearing today. -30 with a breeze. Note to all the guys who don't need cabs, I don't believe you. This stuff isn't cotton candy.

I hope it doesn't cause you much trouble. I enjoy your pictures but I would not like to have that weather where I live.

Record snowfall for the month of December in the Sierra mountains - nearly 17 feet now, and it is still snowing. They had to close Interstate 80 on Saturday; as of this morning it is still closed. Traffic cameras show trees down across the road. Huge mess with all the big rigs piling up in parking lots in Nevada, not able to cross.

We've got other people's snow coming in from the east, just ground drifting. I'm sure I recognized some of the flakes as ones that went by from the west a couple of days ago. Forecast is for -37 at night for the next week or so. Daytime, all the way up to -28. When it's that cold, C or F degrees are about the same. Tractor is plugged in just in case.

We have been hearing about those ridiculously low temperatures all week. Out East here in Souther Ontario it’s right around the freezing mark, and we have been hearing of windshield values as low as -50° around Calgary and Edmonton as well.

Same here in South Western Québec. Have about 1" of snow on my private road when I got to the cottage on the 28th. Too little for the tractor/snowblower so I used the ATV/plow. They were forecasting freezing rain for tomorrow but just saw it has switched to snow with a temperature of 1C. It's going to be heavy snow.

[Root Cause]

Strange weather in NC this weekend.

79° yesterday and still 71° at 1:30 am. the house was about 8° hotter than normal, couldn't sleep, and finally turned on the A/C to cool it off.

2" of rain tomorrow followed by 1-3" snow on Tuesday, the first snow this year.

We don't get a lot of snow or ice but with the temperature swings that are normal, stuff melts in the day and freezes over night. Ice is usually the problem here.

Had a few inches last night. Had to get my butt out to clear the driveway and road so the fuel truck didn't have any problems. -20c, still snowing, bit of wind, wouldn't be without a cab.

You guys had it really bad in Saskatchewan, and in Alberta. Tonight, here in cottage country and Ontario they have a extreme temperature warning, saying that it’s going to go to -35°C with the windchill.

No snow clearing today, wind is blowing like crazy, windchill around-35. Just let it go, see what tomorrow brings.

Back in the 60's was stationed at Great Lakes
Service School Command and I know that the
temp was way over 40 below zero and of all the
cars in the parking lot only three cars would start
a Plymouth, a Pontiac and my Dodge the wind
was blowing in from Lake Michigan 30 to; 40 mph
and it was a damp cold chill you right to the bone!
I like the weather here in West Texas next week
highs from 40 to 69 degrees and lows from 26 to
45 degrees and I have no need to go out at night
and during the day I like to go out and get rid of
the cedars so I will have a straight run to cut the
grass and not have to go around them cedars
also still have some cactus to remove hiden under
the cedars.

Our beautiful snow is melting off. Its gotten up to 40° the last few days.today high 28. Nice ice skating rink roads.

No snow today just ice;

Just about a skating rink to go down hill on,

using the york rake and tire chains to break it up a bit

just shy of a quarter inch of an ice on the truck,

went and cleaned of the windows this afternoon as it is supposed to be colder tomorrow,
a high of 22F and a low of -1F then Tuesday is going to be a sit next to the fire day,
a high of 6F and -4F for the night.

Sounds like it's been a weird winter for everyone so far.
We had a beautiful but little (4-5") snow Friday, nice and cold on Saturday for my favorite "squeaky" snow. Then a cold barely rain today. Very cold on Tuesday. This up and down chit is getting old.

I think I'd rather deal with the blowing snow than rain in winter. Although the bitter cold isn't any fun, it's a dry cold out here.
