The IH wasn't from lack of maintenance, not likely operator error, and it wasn't the load overload so much as the horsepower overload.
I would think the horsepower overload would fall into “operator error” category, wouldnt you?

Nope, going for first place,
because Second place is the first looser.

John Deere has been manufacturing in China for many years.
I have a CX-15 with Chinese gearboxes. But then again so are all the other brands.
Was looking at a newer 120HP farm tractor and the front axle said “made in China“ on it. Wheels and wheel weights made in C, too.
On my new old (2000) JD cut, the loader said made in Georgia so I assumed that’s where they made loaders. My new Kubota loader says made in Georgia.

Is that you or a friend?
Nope, to expensive a hobby for my blood at that level.
But I do enjoy watching and have pulled a few times.

What’s your definition of a good design? A 580 case or any other full size backhoe isn’t a good design. They’re designed durable and don’t break frequently. They have that going for them. They’re fairly affordable for homeowners to own and they’re strong. They also have that going for them. But as far as being a good digger or a good loader they’re not.
I don't know then what the definition of a good loader or digger is. My Case digs fast. I have dug plenty of ditches and holes plenty fast, at least fast to me. And I don't know why it's not a good loader. I can fill the bucket fast, it will lift a full bucket of rocks, it has a nice float function, it back blades well, it lifts plenty high so I can dump stuff on the top of high piles. What would make it significantly better? And it has a shuttle shift, the best transmission invention I can think of. No clutching required to change direction. Woo Hoo!
