I dont think letting all the interstates and bridges fall to pieces, and closing FEMA and farm subsidies, shutting down Marines, Navy, Airforce, and returning all the forces from overseas and walking away from NATO, would be be what would work for anyone....Maybe just defund Congress and the Senate and make them go look for a job...LOL

I think something like less than 50% of tax revenue comes from income taxes. I think you could do away with them and increase import tariffs a crap ton to make up the difference. Yes it will hurt for a year or two but I think after that you'd be amazed at the benefits.

Not like there's anything that even resembles a balanced budget anyway...

How is it inflation happens again? You didn't clear any debt, you devalued the debt by circulating more money. It may feel good right now but the consequences of that are very bad. Also consider how many of those sat at home collecting all that money rather than being productive somewhere, now you have reduced output to create future assets. How do you collect more taxes when there's no wealth being created? These stimulus things are horrible, I said it way back when they first started being mainstream in 07/08 and I still say it. Stimulus payments aren't payments, their inflators of the economy that have highly detrimental long term consequences.

Much of the inflation has been the result of QE and low interest rates for the past decade. This has overheated demand and increased prices.

I prefer to live in a country with high quality of life and pay my share to insure good infrastructure and services. There are plenty of s**thole countries around the world that you can go to that have low or no taxes. All of the countries with high standards of living have substantial taxes. Compare European countries to sub-Saharan African countries.

And what do we get for our high taxes? A laughable healthcare system, roads that are barely fit to drive on, very limited public transportation, poorly funded schools, poorly funded police, and wealthy politicians.

We dont play the long game, which is education.
That doesnt mean spending more money, we already spend too much.
That means raising the focus and standards of education.

Smart people do smarter things and generally make smarter decisions, which makes life better for everyone.

Paying stupid, lazy people to sit around & do nothing is a road to ruin.
