You got me. But it was common out in the area I lived in. Also really common down by my work in the city.I don't get it. If there is trash service in the rural areas, why dump trash on other people's property?
City has an automatic fee figured in with your bill and will do collection of big items, all you gotta do is call them.
Out in the county where I lived, there were 4 different options for trash pickup. All you had to do was call one of them and set it up. Was around $80 a 1/4
Large ticket items could be hauled to one of three landfills and a transfer station. Transfer Station was the most expensive.
Hauled an old couch and love seat to one of the landfills. Lady running the scales ended up taking them for one of her kids that was moving out. So there wasn't a charge.
Charge wouldn't have been much though. It was maybe $.25 a pound
