Should the community make the rules?

I vote no on letting members of the herd set their own rules.
I come here to read about farm machinery, and rural lifestyle.

I definitely don’t want to see any COVID or national political discussions here. At this point, nobody is going to change anybody’s mind, and there are better places to discuss these topics than TBN.

I do favor more mods, and identifying why non Complying posts were deleted. In general, I am very happy with the content and management of TNT, and that is why I keep coming back.

Surprised that so many people in the good old USA approve of censorship

Well, censorship is based upon a particular society's standards. This forum is its own micro society, whose members seem content with the present format, so it sounds like surprise is unnecessary, it's the system working as intended!

I wish there had been more information regarding this vote. i am comfortable with things as they are. However, since I am unaware of the problems or past issues, it is difficult to vote without knowledge of the issues or problems which fostered this vote. If someone has been banned over something controversial, and I was aware of the situation, it may be easier to vote. I also wonder if a person is being banned, are they notified via email stating the reason, requesting a response or explanation reqarding the issue. I guess the short answer is I have no personal reason to request a change.

I joined as a never-had-a-tractor-before guy. Learned a lot here by reading lots of posts. I read right past any of the statements that are deemed "offensive" I guess. They don't bother me at all. After reading through these posts, what about a solution using technology. Of course, it'll cost money. Can the system identify post containing certain words or phrases, remove all verbiage from that single post itself, and notify the poster why it was removed? Then let the entire thread stay active. Why does person need to do that?
