I run an older Garmin 62 st gps has a topographic map overlay, great battery life with l-ions can fit in your pocket or also have a ram mount for it with extra balls mounted on all my toys. Found a few arrowheads (I think) I also found what may have been Indian burial mounds. At least that's what some elders told me. Only wolverines I've seen were in Ann arbor lol. However wolf, moose, and mtn lion are reported to be in the area. We saw a moose on hwy 41 near Marquette.

No we don't, but why should we?

Let me add a funny story about doing GPS hike. On one to an obscure waterfall following our friends GPS who had recorded its location a few years earlier, we hiked in a big circle and never did locate the falls. It was in the spring and in swampy terrain. Seems he needed a better unit??

The copper arrow heads are found but never by us. :(

As Jeff states, the wolverines are long gone.

A wolverine is one of those critters that you'd love to see in the wild... but kinda while you're sitting in a steel box.
Lol the university of Michigan supposedly had a real one for a mascot in a few of its fb games during the 20s they had to get rid of it because it kept attacking it's handlers. Pound for pound the wolverine is considered to be one of the most ferocious mammals on earth.

I have that same model! Love the Garmin GPSMAP series. Solid workhorses. I particularly like the feature where you can geotag any image and use it as a background map. Really fun to do that with historic maps.

FWIW the last wolverine found in Michigan was a few years ago in the thumb. Dead.
