Tractor
2010 Bobcat CT225
I am looking to buy a 2010 Bobcat CT225 and need advice.
It has: 837hrs
58" bucket
Wallenstein GX 700 belly/frame mount backhoe
66"mower deck
Asking price is 28,500.00 Canadian
Is this a fair price and could I expect any problems with the unit. I am in St Stephen New Brunswick Canada. 10 min from the Calais Maine.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Asking price is $28,500.00 Is this a fair price?

Tractor prices vary 40% from Alaska to Georgia.

Where are you located?

Is dealer service available nearby?

Do you need a Backhoe?

The land we bought is raw forest. I think the backhoe will be good to install my septic field and dig out a root cellar etc.

The price is in Canadian. The property is completely flat.

$28,500 CAN = $22,350 USA.

A good price assuming the tractor has been inside stored and is in good condtion.

At 837 hours you will not need new front tires for 1,000 engine hours, nor will the tractor have been used and abused commercially.

I would not want a twelve year old tractor that was stored outside where rodents may have chewed the wiring.

You said any advice so my 2 cents is you mentioned two projects, do you have more?
I would consider that, maintenance cost, etc.
as opposed to cost of hiring someone and cost of renting a machine, you doing the work.
If you are thinking about using it for business purposes and able to write it off is another consideration as well as cost of a new machine that's similar. New if you'll use it a lot, it will have a warranty, maybe equipped better suited to your needs.
Then new possibly zero or low interest and investing the money you have.
How long you think you'll use it (your age).
Things I'd be thinking about.
