If you read the article, you’d see theres a certain individual backed by another group of environmentalists standing in the way of working anything out.

As far as “filling the gap from Russia”, today would be nice. Every barrel is blood money. We have the capacity shut him off now, but instead, we’re increasing from 3% to 7.9%.

Free enterprise. Some folks in the senate are proposing to ban Russian imports. We’ll see if it passes. The oil companies won’t stop this unless they are legally required to.

What gets legally imported in or exported out of this country is from government policy, not Free Enterprise.

CA is a special case. Coal is rapidly becoming irrelevant everywhere as old plants are closed or converted to natural gas, and no new plants are being built.

Except in India and China, I guess their dirty air stays over there.

China and India air pollution stays inside their borders. US air pollution floats all around the globe. Thats why radical environmentalists never shame China, only the USA.

I wonder if that bunch knows of the top 25 polluting cities in the world, 24 of them are in China?

Wow, the gas just jumped this week from $3.49 to $3.99 a gallon, and diesel went up to $4.59. I filled up all the tractors and cars, but if it keeps going up that fast, a lot of plans will have to be gone over again or set aside.

Why don’t we do good things for our own country and quit focusing on what other countries do? Not polluting our air, soil and water with mercury, and other toxins is good for America. And coal is a more expensive fuel for electric generation than gas anyways, so there’s no incentive to keep using it.

For once can you cut the politics? It’s simply good that we don’t pollute our water and soil with toxic waste in our own country. That’s a huge win for a cleaner environment and public health in America. We no longer have to accept those toxins in our country; we are rich and technically advanced enough to have cleaner options. Let the third world pollute their soil and water if they want to.

Um no. The US never has and never will stop sticking our noses in other countries affairs.
We HAVE significantly decreased pollution in this country. We have done a LOT.

The objective of environmentalists is 2 fold. Decrease greenhouse gasses/pollution through destruction of any fossil fuel devices.
It wont end with elimination of coal and switching to NG…..
Once thats done, they will want NG eliminated, just like coal.
