The price gouging has been going on for a while. Lots of threads on it.


For those who go green, JD has (or had) some discount programs for various affiliations. You have to sign up on their site and apply for eligibility.

This is not a new thing since the pandemic and computer chip shortages. I just bought a new Ford F 350 a couple of days before Christmas. I ordered 10/27/21. I was very fortunate to have a dealer that honored Ford's X Plan, which is a little below invoice plus a $275 processing fee. But dealers are not obligated to accept any of Ford's price plans such as A, X or Z if they don't want to. In these times many dealers are getting MSRP plus a premium. It's not unheard of for trucks to be selling for several thousand dollars over MSRP. And people are foolish enough to pay it, so dealers keep doing it. I'm sure this holds true for the tractor market also. Fortunately I purchased a very low hour BX2380 in June 2020 from Barlow's. Even with the delivery a few states away it was a heck of a deal compared to buying new and local.
On the flip side of the market, I got a ridiculous price for my trade in. I literally couldn't afford NOT to get a new truck.

You're right. I don't have any use for Dave Ramsay. Got rich from others while trying to inject religion into every other paragraph. I got a few chapters into one of his books many years ago. Got sick of getting hit over the head with the same message and threw book into the recycle bin. If he's your guru, good for you. But he's not mine. I have none.
And again, what the other person does with his finances is not my business. Or yours. Just as my financial dealings are not the business of others. And how many people do you think are really going to take the advice of an internet stranger on a tractor forum in regards to what they should or should not do with their money? If they're that foolish they deserved to get clipped.
