Helogabals, welcome to the Good Morning thread. My ancestors are from an area about 1000km to the SE. Are you close to the Baltic Sea?
yeah, I am
Right on the edge of Gulf of Riga 👋

Well, didn't do a thing today except lay in bed for 4 more hours..... seems to be getting a tad worse. Coughing frequently, no junk however, a 'dry' cough. Just feel real tired. No other symptoms.

I think I am going to go take a hot shower, maybe that will help.
Hope your feeling lot better than you did 24 hours ago.

David, too nice a day for that. I will meet you half way though, as what I sense you are really after is an excuse to take a little break from caretaker home construction.

Here are another 3 samples, in total almost exactly the same weight as before.

Let me know when you have finished the counting

You could also put them in a vacuum oven to remove moisture content, to see how much they ripped you off, selling you moisture.
:)

Wifey made my decaf/chocolate pecan coffee this morning.

Busy day today with kids. I took off spring break too. We worked the 55 gallon show aquarium...much needed. Used the siphon/vac to get out much of the bottom yuck, removing at least half of the water. Before putting in the new marineland filters, I cleaned the old filters a couple of times to strain out the yuck as it was stirred up. We scraped the sides around the top edge to remove water deposits. It looks so much better. Only 2 large angel fish and a Plecostomus. I was so tired, I had to take a 30 minute chair nap.

Next, we started sanding the kitchen cabinet drawer faces, and doors. Only got 3 sanded and painted with minwax polyurethane. Maybe 3 or 4 more later this week.

I need to go visit my mom. She is doing much better since her heart attack Jan 1st. Living by herself again. Still driving, very little, only in the daytime, and only short trips.

High gas prices hitting me hard, considering I drive about 137 miles going to work and back.

I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for my desktop here at home. Cheap enough $30. Pleased with it so far. Logitech.

Pregnant SIL and her husband coming to visit. I might should go up and visit Roy and family for a couple of days.....stop by Drew's for some scones and muffins.

I bought a sack of Russell Stover SUGAR FREE chocolates, and they are really, really good. Not good for you, but they taste good. "Wifey likes them too.

Went to the tax office and paid for 2 license stickers. Here in Texas, you have to get your vehicle inspected ($7), show proof of liability insurance, and pay $74. per year for the sticker you put in the window. The tandem axle trailer sticker was $75.

Welcome Helogabals. Nice pic. enjoy your weather. Have you lived there all your life?

Prayers for our team, our country, and Ukraine.

Prayers Randy.

Nice day, light when I got home.

Haven’t seen they gray cat in a few days.

Prepping for teaching the Bible class the next 2 Wednesday nights.

Working on house plan ideas, already bigger than I want. 1 story on a basement. Basement with a walkout, everything but utilities on 1st floor, including laundry. Garage in back. Front and side covered porch. Have no idea how we will pay for it in today’s economy.

Thanks !

Yeah, I have born here. Just after UNI ( I am woodworking engineer) traveled a bit across EU. But now I am raising my 5 kids 100 km from village I was born. My sis never have changed her place, she still lives there, we visit her quite often.
I have noticed, that Americans are very mobile comparing to Europeans. I guess - because of language. Texans might sound a little different than Californians, but still it's "the same" English. Danish and Italian have nothing, absolutely nothing in common. But there is "only one country" between them 😀

Here we have to inspect cars annually either. New cars for first 4 years - every 2 years.
Inspection (frankly - quite strict) - 30 €, sticker - 5 €.
Biggest issue is Company car tax, depends. ev - 12 €/m; 2 L diesel Škoda - 30 €/m; once I will be in mood I will ask how much neighbor is paying for his Porsche. My guess - should be just below 100 €/m 😁

So what did I learn during the Zoom with my County Council person. (In no particular order)

Yes, we are fortunate that real estate values have increased. The fact that any increase is only on paper unless you sell is not relevant. It’s only a tax increase if the tax rate changes. I got the feeling that with the increased property value and the tax rate is lowered but my total tax rises, it is still considered a reduction. . My comment that writing a larger check than last year was a tax increase in my book wasn’t really acceptable. Homeowner class owners should take comfort that their taxes are limited to a max increase of 3% per year.
The county is required to have a balanced budget, spending cannot exceed income, but when asked why the budget increases because increased income is anticipated, the answer was lost in list of mandatory expenditures.
When asked if the Council person supported the Mayor’s proposed increase - yes, because so much hasn’t supported in the past.
Overall, not an encouraging discussion, taxpayers ripe for the picking.
