Anyone else priced trucks lately? I don’t particularly NEED another truck but do want one and it would be beneficial to have one. My old one is a 2011 with 233k miles. Never done a thing to it cept put a battery in it. Anyway. I went to one of the dealers the other day and priced one. Didn’t have what I wanted on lot so we built one. $73,000!! And that ain’t one with all the bells and whistles.

I usually trade every two years or so,not right now for sure.Only have 16,800 miles on this one.
Another note;even with all the "shortages" record profits by the car companies.

My truck is a '98 and the wife's jeep just turned 20 years old today. Both run and drive like new so no need to go in to debt for new and shiny.😀

Failed to mention my old one is a half ton. Pulls tractor fine and a few round bales of hay. Was wanting the 3/4 ton to pull more hay and brake with a load better.

My 2007 Dodge 2500 with Cummins has 156k miles. Barely broken in for a Cummins motor.

That’s what I’m looking at. Laramie. Some bells but not whistles. Lol

I have the same, just older. It’s hard the beat that truck and motor combination. But I have the 5.9 and you will get the 6.3 motor. IDK about the 2022 models but mine is extremely simple for maintenance. I change the oil and the oil, air, and fuel filters and close the hood. Not much else to maintain.

I wanted a basic F250 4x4 regular cab for a second vehicle, and was planning to travel beyond the rust belt to buy one.
Then CVD hit, driving prices out of sight. By the time things settle back down all I'll be able to find is one of those magic EV pickups.

Another reason I’m thinking of getting one. I know it’ll be awhile before ev takes majority but concerned with the administration we have (being PC ) will try to levy or tax fossil fuel vehicles in the future.

If you don't need it now, I would wait. With the supply chain disruptions, steel prices, crude oil zigzags, it is going to be awhile before dealers are going to be offering anything much beyond MSRP+ pricing on whatever models and options get sent there. I was reading yesterday about Broncos not getting rear seat fan controls, BMWs not having infotainment connections, Teslas not offering seat heaters, another brand not getting the fuel economy optimizers, etc., all due to chip shortfalls. The list goes on, and it is all over the map. When I bought my pickup ten or so years ago, I ended up flying 800 miles away to a dealer who was willing to sell me a truck for farm use, not a leather wrapped special brand version with 24 speakers, seat heating and AC... it just seemed like all the local dealers were trying to sell pickups masquerading as Cadillacs or Mercedes.

All the best,

Peter
