LMAO..... :ROFLMAO:
(What is the "best" tractor? The best lasts longest and gives the least amount of trouble. It's as simple as that.)

One that you have owned for 20 plus years with very little repairs! Any other Opinion is someone with a brand new tractor wishing he has bought the best one made that will last.

I can't think of a reason not to hate such a terrible person.
I know the Ramsey name having heard him in drive time…

Simple advice for the most part…

What am I missing?

Purchasing 7 tractors over the years puts you in a totally different class of customers. Most new tractor sells to individuals is a one time sale. It's like hiring a contractor to build a home. He considers you as a one shot customer and wants to keep you happy so you give good reviews but trying to give you lowest price isn't his number one priority. Now if you sell it and have him build another and another home you eventually move to being a "Price Priority" customer.
Use to have an Uncle that would buy a new Farmall tractor on the averge of every five years. Every fourth or fifth year, in the fall of year when he sold tobacco, the Farmall dealership would contact him with the latest and prettiest red Farmall tractor they had. They would allow him a little more on his trade in because he kept his tractor looking new. Repeat business and profit was the incentive. My dad never did own a new tractor and I never seen any dealership try to sell daddy a new tractor.
My guess is that every time he depreciated it down to zero, he’d get a new one so he could write it off on his taxes. Had a cousin who did that with F350 pickups, every 4-years They depreciated to zero and he would buy a new one. Not sure it wold pass muster with a CPA, but it made sense to him and the Budget Officer, aka wife.

Absolutely! That quote came out of the Spring 1965 issue of Ford Farming, an old Ford tractor magazine that is no longer in print. I can assure you that Ford 3000 I have is and always will be the best tractor there ever was! That tractor by all accounts should not be running anymore but still does and always cranks up on the first turn of the key. As I said in another thread recently, it's the Keith Richards of tractors.

Dave's not a bad guy. I'm not a big fan of him and I certainly don't agree with all of his positions on finances but I don't think he is a bad guy. What he does that I think turns you and some others off to him is he takes these hard line positions on certain topics such as debt and as an educated person you and I understand that it's not so black and white like he tries to make it out to be. However, a lot of what he says is correct but you have to filter out the Dave Ramsey ideology from it.

I hate the scammers advertising that they can get your taxes you owe way down to nothing more than Dave Ramsey.

People who skip out on child support and people who skip out on paying their share of taxes are worthless human beings.

I guess that there are differences in what people consider to be their "fair share" of taxes. It becomes even more difficult to determine what that might be when it becomes based on ideologies and behavior modification rather than simple math. People who pay very little in taxes will often go on about someone who pays hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes as not paying "their fair share".

Give me a number... what percentage of earnings is "fair share"? For everyone?
