I just ordered two so thanks for the info!
I’m going to go see if I can get one from my local dealer. I went online to order one and the shipping cost nearly as much as the part.

Interesting. My MX came with a rod indicator. Maybe Kubota has changed the design.
I believe the smaller Kubota's don't or at least didn't. That may have changed as I don't keep up on current models. A friend has a BX and he brought it over and I refitted his. All I had to do was drill and tap a spot on the lower arm for the pivot. Otherwise it was 'plug and play'. All I know is the on the bucket level indicator is useless.

I think that depends on from where you order them. If it's Messicks, I agree the ship cost will be high as Messicks has a bad habit of high ship to costs. You might try a more local dealer.

The part is cheap actually.

I find the parts counter staff can’t find the Wholegoods parts without some help.

I wanted B26 backhoe bucket ears. The parts tech looked and looked. Got the service manager help to look. Then was told the only way to get ears was to buy another bucket and cut them off. Showed them again the Wholegoods list and price of what I wanted on my phone. Got a salesmen and helped them order just the blank ears. Lot depends on your dealer’s knowledge too.

Similar issue on a M59 bonnet protector except when you mention Wholegoods to Messicks they transfer you to sales staff. Great customer service.

It was Messicks. I’m just going to get the local dealer to order one in for me.

I have a feeling that they will fit other makes as well but on the new ones with plastic fuel tanks, I have no idea. Don't have plastic tanks on mine and no way to ascertain if they do or don't.

One thing I've noticed about threads where fuel flow is restricted, people suggest loosening the fuel cap as it may not be venting. On both my M's the cap does not vent at all. The tanks on both have a breather hose on them. The breather hose also acts as an overflow as well.

Been told by various posters that they do not exist. Early Kubota tractors came with them but at some point in time, Kubota quit installing them.

They do exist and you can get one (or more) from ANY Kubota dealer. I don't know if they will fit the late model plastic tanks, but they will fit everything else and probably other makes as well. They come with an expander ring that you can remove if not necessary. I have 2 of them one in each of my M9 tanks. Keeps any debris like grass or leaves or small sicks out and insures the fuel flow to the engine mounted filters will not get impeded due to a plugged pickup fitting in the fuel tank.

Kubota Part number is: 35450-41060

Your friendly Kubota parts department can get you one or more.

The cost is around 10 bucks. Well worth, good insurance against junk in your fuel tank
I have the original in my M4500 filler neck and i have to take it out when I fuel because it can't keep up with my hand fuel pump when fueling. I have a filter on my fuel line so I'm not worried about trash from the tank. I'd like to use something like this so that external trash can't into the tank while fueling but it won't handle the flow rate. Maybe the one you use has more flow capability than the one I have. Do you have a picture? You probably fill with an electric fuel pump. If so can this filter handle the high flow rate?

I had to replace the insulating pad on the underside of my M9 as the original one has fallen apart. I wasn't sure if I could get it but the parts manager at my dealership found it and ordered me one. I'll have them replace it next week when it's in for service. needs it's 1500 hour valve adjustment...a little late. The parts manager at my dealership is a whiz with that stuff. Like the drop in fuel filters. He knew what I wanted and got them for me last year and I would have posted the part number a long time ago, but I tossed the bag. Was bugging me after a poster told me I was FOS. If I comment on something on here, it's not fantasy ever.

I have to keep an eye on it and set the nozzle for less than maximum flow or it will click off. I'm not in a big hurry to fill the tanks anyway and if you don't have a bulk tank and fill with cans, they work fine.

Most Kubota's that I observe (looked at) for some reason have the fuel filler smack dab on the middle of the hood area. Mine are both off to one side near the bottom of the door.

I don't much care for that location myself. You scratch the hood filling it and it's easy to overfill too. If I overfill mine, all it does is kill the grass.

In reality, the primary reason for them is to keep junk out of the fuel tank, they don't filter like the engine mounted filters do and never will.

Sort of a 'First line of defense' thing.

You might also noticed that those fine filters will also block water infiltration.

I have one and once a small amount of fuel has passed and 'wetted' the fine screen beads of water are stopped.
If I'm not wrong that mesh is 100 size.
I have a larger DIY funnel that uses that fine mesh and I have enjoyed water free fuel for many years now.
