Something of an alternative. I currently have my $25/mon Visible sim in my Nighthawk MR1100. Being a Hotspot, speed is limited to 5mbs. It uses Verizon signal and I have in a spot my Mobley only gets about 3mbs.

Is that still the only option you have. That seems slow for todays interweb.

Put that Mobley SIM into a Netgear LB1120 with a Nighthawk router behind it and I think you will see the speeds greatly increase. I typically see 30 down and 10 up. You will need the PUK Codes do do it though

Think we have an antenna site that location, trees blocking. Mobley used to do much better that location. I might get to try using a Yagi antenna to help in a couple weeks.

This is my other Mobley about 300 away, better view

I just got a Nighthawk mr1100 lte mobile hotspot router and the speed improved from our Verizon dsl some but not by a large amount. Download speeds from3 mbps to around 20 mbps on occasion but the upload speed is usually less than 1 mbps, it seems that the faster the download the slower the upload, why?

Curious
Anyone aware of a method to transfer Mobley? I have 2 accounts I’m getting ready to turn off, but if their is a way for someone else to benefit…

Don’t know.
I’m keeping mine for the price, I’ll put it at dads house before I get rid of that deal.

Do you have an external antenna on it? I do not have the mobley plan, but I have the MR1100. I have one external antenna. It has helped a lot. I have been told if I put two on it of set to 45 degrees I will get even better signal because of the polarization.

Tried to activate online, first one asked for my Onstar car number, I told her she was not in the right connected car plan, got transferred several times, finally got to the right person but she could not verify me since I didn't have my drivers license number handy. After a total of 57 minutes on the phone, she assigned a cell phone number and a eighteen digit case number and said go to the AT&T store.

Took the eBay/Besy Buy Mobley to the AT&T store in Stillwater yesterday. Megan met us at the door, sat down at a table and in about 15 minutes had it activated. She said I might get Billing to wave the $25 activation fee. Total monthly bill will be $25.94 with all of the extra fees.

Got home, plugged it in to the power supply, It works! :D Got a weak signal of -115 dBm, 130 kbps down, 10kbps up.

Speed increased when moved to a stronger signal, this is -106 dBm:

And -100 dBm:

Kinda slow, but faster than Hughes Net in the evening hours. 👍

Still have a lot of places to try for a stronger signal.
Well after 6 years of continuous use I disconnected the Mobley from the battery on Monday.

These were some of the fastest speed tests here in the house with the Mobley:

Not as fast as Starlink, but fast enough for my wife and I.

Just curious, how much per month. Both Verizon and ATT are slow at our place so it probably wouldn't work for us.

A whole lot of those wireless internet options aren't available here in Ea WA state. I've been with Hughes Net over eight years. Consistent speeds/consistent pricing. Works for me.

For that matter - Hughes is the ONLY internet option available here. No landline and no other satellite options. There is an option thru ATT. But it's no better than their cell phone service.

That's the first independent positive testimonial I've heard from a Hughes Net user.

Hughes Net - right here - - either accept it or go without internet service. Would I like better and faster - of course. But - obviously - that's not going to happen any time soon.

Hughes Net - $54/month.

I have the same issue here in NW AR. Although I use a wireless Netgear M1 mobile hotspot (I have used cellular modems since 2012 for internet service) for my Internet, with a data only plan from Cricket wireless (AT&T) and my cell phone uses Verizon, neither company offers the cellular home internet in my location.

The last time I called AT&T they said my address was not suitable for reception. I laughed when I told the Rep. that I was already using AT&T LTE as a pay as you go service (albeit with a external antenna). It just would have been nice to get an unlimited setup. No go though when their computers say not.

Funny enough the one (T-Mobile) that does not have reception in my location does offer their home internet. I tried it and could not get their box to work. Unfortunately it had no external antenna connectors to enhance reception. After dealing with T-Mobile though I would never use them now even if they had the greatest reception and a fantastic setup. I really dislike those people.

Back a long time ago I had Dish internet for a few years. It was marginal and I was happy to go to 4G/lte with a cellular modem. The problem with Starlink is it is another service that costs a lot and does not recognize my address to offer service.

"Cell service/internet service not available". Yes - I've been told that by more than one "provider".

I keep getting those offers living in the city but each time I enter my address it comes back not available.

SAT Internet is problematic when living in a forest...

Connectivity will be always a problem in some locations.

After checking into options and using a wireless provider for several years I went with a DSL phone line from Ziply That's the current name of our local hard wired phone company. I don't have a wired phone, just the DSL service. The service is about $50 a month plus $10 per month to rent the wireless router. My speed is about 15 gigabits per second, five times as fast as my former wireless. I'm about a mile from the connection point. Speed will depend on distance from the service with further being slower. It could be worth investigating.
