Being interested in industrial history and machines equipped with tracks, below is a cool video made in Germany in 1908 of early designs. Anyone else?

My dad had a Caterpillar history book that covered the first track layers. Remember the old days when you lit a fire under the engine block to get them started in cold weather?

In the German film, the 2 fellows crossing the field in one look they might get shook to death. Operator vibration or shaking them was a problem that needed to be addressed. How that was fixed and how they changed over the years is industrial history I enjoy.

The California Ag Museum in Woodland, Ca is well worth the visit if you're in the area. They have some of the early crawler, Holt's and later Cat.

yep. Dad had a 5 gal buket about 3/4 full with ashes. Dump a bunch of diesel in there and light it off.
