Maybe not so unusual but in grade school about half my classmates were transplants new to CA with Dads accepting jobs in defense, tech and aerospace…

Twenty minutes later a Street person walks in with a blade attempting to steal anything she can get her hands on… the altercation left my knee and wrist banged up . . .

Why doesn't the hospital provide security to it's employees. Someone needs to sue their employer.

Friend's garden a real mess. No sense planting veggies if you aren't willing to weed, or at least put down landscape cloth.

Ultrarunner, my sister adores SF, has a high rise apartment looking over the Bay, though their home is in Muir Beach. Their home area is pretty safe, and is in
microclimate near the ocean where it just never gets hot. But i constantly remind her to please be careful when walking the SF streets. She thinks she's an experienced
city person. Too many crazies out there as you clearly know.

Security is roving by patrol and the clinics have no fixed security…

It’s a duty that overtime shifted to me as most of our nurses tend to be female on the petite side.

Up until the DA started prosecuting police officers and city council defunding started this city was very much protected…

The irony is my many LEO friends leave the State upon retirement and some are opting out with 25 or even 20 years in.

Is it not nationwide is the question I have been asking myself of late?

This area was Golden for many decades with a solid police department and modest homes immaculately kept…

If I were to generalize what happened is the thin Blue Line does not exist anyone.

Without public support you really don’t have policing.

Afraid to say many I know are just counting the days to get out of Dodge and the sentiment reflects many departments.

So far today is a good day… all quiet the last three hours.

I use to think crime mostly in Urban settings but friends in rural WA and California tell me it is bad there to so that they will not leave the homestead unattended…

Currently San Leandro California… birthplace of Caterpillar Tractor and home to lots of Industry that no longer exists here like Western Electric, Kellogg’s, Crown Zellerbach, Simpson Strong Tie, Kraft, etc…

County areas in WA where friends really hard hit is the Key peninsula… I’ve had issues outside Olympia… rural often means isolated and the crooks know this.

78°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 101° today. Voice on the radio suggested as high as 103°. Current record for this date is 97° from 1952.

Got a whole lot of nothing done last night after work. Wife cooked some delicious brats in the air fryer, though. Didn't hate that at all, other than heating up the kitchen.

We've been seeing this around here, too. A Facebook page we follow called Metro East Crime documents the daily criminal activities here on the Illinois side of the St. Louis area, and they seem to be reporting a lot more activity getting closer to us. It used to be mostly confined to East St. Louis and its surrounding areas. Lately, it's crept out to the smaller towns like Lebanon and Highland, both less than 10 miles from us. Last week, someone stole a municipal tractor and mower from the village of Summerfield IL, which is about seven miles from us.

Used to be that rural also meant armed. I'm not convinced that really deters these idiots anymore.

Nice. I'm still kind of struggling with the current prices, but I know the longer I wait, the higher they're going.
Dirt is supposed to be arriving for the new berm this week. Might be the catalyst I need to get me to make the big trade for a .357 lever and start shooting more again.

Mowed for 4 hours yesterday...never got too sweaty until I stopped and used the air compressor to completely clean the Zero, when I was drenched. What a difference a little 8 to 10mph breeze makes zooming along on the mower.

LOL. I can relate. I was nice and dry, except for my back, and then I got the blower out. Of course walking into the house, the wife yelled at me NOT to sit down. Yeah...I knew I was sweating, but not that bad.

The bad part of this weather is with so many chores, one does not know when is the best time for a shower.....or two.

speaking of showers, took me as long getting the bits of lawn and grass out of shower when done than cleaning myself. Sure felt good

Very old school no nonsense guy. Our DA is also a strict believer in do the crime, do the time. The governor was here last night, he slammed the liberal judges and DA’s in Baltimore and suburbs.
