I was in the market for a used tractor a few years ago and went into my local ls dealer. They had a used tractor with loader on consignment from an older woman. It had been stolen from her years before. A guy had bought it and showed up looking for parts and when they ran the serial number they found it stolen. She got her tractor back and the guy that bought it was out what he paid. Turned out he bought it from weed growers.

Aren't cashiers checks the driving force behind Nigerian prince scams. Must be pretty easy to fake. Banks cash them the days later take the money back after finding they're fake. Many places won't accept them. I known won't without holding in account for a few days before giving object to buyer.
What if the "fake" check had a phony phone number for the financial institution where this pos had some crony ready to take the call and "verify" the validity of the check? Pretty easy to set up....

It isn't. But read up on Civil Asset Forfeiture and how many departments essentially fund their entire annual budget by mis-applying it.
It is a CRIME it’s just one committed by the police and thier masters!

I have known people who had thier money stolen by the police, seems to be a very fustrating position to be stuck in.

Uh no. The US isn't using RFID on banknotes. Several European countries are, but not the US.

That strip you're referring to is the "security thread" that takes an extraordinary effort to duplicate by counterfeiters. The most it does is glow green when you hit it with a blacklight.

Passive RFID has a very short range just like badge readers. Beyond a foot or so, forget it. To go further, the RFID tag has to have a battery.
Nope it's also on your tires right at the bead, covered by the rim. Someone with a good card scanner can lift your credit/debit info further than ten feet.

Back in the70's the MF dealer I worked at had a fellow come in and wanted to trade a JD 110 on a MF 10. He was in a hurry as he said he wanted to surprise his wife and wanted it home before she got home. Deal done tractors traded. All seemed to be OK. He rolled the MF and needed it repaired, Again work done and tractor returned. Law enforcement notified us that the JD was stolen due to nonpayment. Went and picked up the MF before it disappeared. Later found out he had done this to 4 or 5 dealers, but it was stopped then.

Who got a copy of his driver's license? Then there'd be no. question. I'm sorry, but I don't feel sorry. Cash is king. If they can write a check, they can get the cash. I've seen things bought and sold with large brown grocery bags of cash, hundreds of thousands a pop.
If you carry cash and get stopped for any reason by the police, goodbye cash. Now, if you take a check and don't wait for it to clear you are foolish.

An active rfid tag needs a power source to be read far away. A passive chip (like my dog has under skin) needs a scanner with a powerful signal to enable and read the chip. It also needs to be placed on skin of my dog to even read the thing 1” below. Hold scanner a few feet away….nothing. Bank notes dont have these. More conspiracy theories.

Todays conspiracy:

Rumor has it there's a tin foil shortage.
I believe my RF blocking wallet is lined with foil of some sort.. Not sure though. I do know someone got my card number when it was in my other wallet before I got this one.

Don't worry about a brain issue. My baseball cap is line with Reynolds Quilted.............

Wrap cash in foil. Don't have it on your person. Hide it on your vehicle somewhere. Don't act nervous.

Sorry for your loss ED. Anyone with Fake Cashiers Cheque would also have a Fake Drivers license.
Tip off is no Licence Plates. He will be caught. Likely lives within 100 miles. Possibly a stolen Dually as well. Note missing clearance light on roof.
That's not a missing light. That's an antenna.

Never take cash in that amount,,,,,,you might get robbed at gun point on the way to the bank.......guess who knows you are carrying cash? Meet at the buyers bank, or verify the cashiers check as previously stated.

You're just plain wrong on there being RFID in U.S. bills. It's just not true.

RFID in tires is used for inventory control.

Again, wrapping cash in foil does nothing, as there's no RFID in US bills. Please stop spreading this nonsense.
