Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

...rattles like crazy. Yes, that's what I'm getting. 'Unbalanced' is a good word for it. And I ain't of a mind to accept that as normal at this point. As you said, it changes frequency as the rpm moves higher or lower, however that does not negate the vibration, it simply changes the pitch of the resonance. I've a call to the dealer for my guy to check any other 5100s he has on his lot to see if they do anything similar. Longer term effects won't be good. That's just too much shakin' going on.
sorry you are having this issue, let us know what you find out

Here's my setup for a logging winch on the back. Top link with hoses from Amazon. Measured the OEM top link and came as close as I could with the hyd one. Also put in a control valve (gold knob) to slow down the movement. Seems you would need another set of remotes to also have a hyd side movement or a "switch" to change from one ram to the other.

welcome aboard, if you have time post some photos of your top link, I'm planning to do one myself.
Thanks! This thread was very helpful when I was shopping for a tractor. Here's a pic from the first run with it. It is close to contacting when at a high angle, but I haven't seen that it touches. I'll double check that this weekend. If I had it to do over, I would probably get the next size up from this one. I thought I'd allowed enough extra length for the Pat's Quick Hitch, but I think one day I will wish it extended another inch or so. I'll have to find and post the Tractor Supply PNs for the cylinder and hoses.

Edit to add that the TS hoses worked great, but the tractor end leaked at first. I had to redo the fitting connections with tape and retighten them. No leaks now.

ill pay closer attention to this issue next time iam on it, seems to be internal , somewhere between the rear housing and transmission, i guess i should have been more clear about when iam feeling/hearing this, its only when tractor is in neutral as soon as you let the clutch out and the internals are free spooling in neutral it appears, i dont notice this when its in gear under load, i might be just paranoid, iam always listening and feeling for something wrong, i even do this in my truck.... its a curse...lol,,, ill keep ya posted

Do you mind posting a link to the gold control valve?

I just received a call from Mahindra quality control asking questions about my spider gear failure. Nice conversation he was asking questions about what happened and what I was doing with the tractor at the time of the failure, anyway he is forwarding the parts to India for analysis. I asked for feedback on the final conclusion and will pass it on when it happens.

Must say i'm impressed that they are following up, the repair was handled by the dealer without issue and the tone of this conversation was pleasant, he was just asking relevant questions needed to help determine if there is a design problem that needs to be addressed.

Just took possession of a new 5155 a couple weeks ago. Downsized from a 91hp JD 5525. Less than 20 hrs on the Mahindra thus far. Wondering if y'all have experienced any appreciable vibration in your own 5100's to date? I'm getting some significant resonance between 1800 through 2000 rpm. Makes the brake lever buzz loudly like it's coming unglued. Above 2000 the engine vibration continues and buzzes other stuff as well. This occurs under all conditions, stationary and otherwise - neutral or otherwise.
Graded my driveway tonight with my box blade and I intentionally ran the RPM’s up to 2000 and 2300. While it does buzz a little at the higher RPM’s it is not what I would call excessive or annoying. I typically have not run it that fast because I don’t feel I need to for the majority of things that I do. I tend to run it around 1,750 at the E-PTO speed and it is a little quieter but overall I find this tractor to be actually less noisy than other diesels I’ve been around and operated. Just my observations.

The brochure for the 5155 lists the weight at 5,390 lbs, but what is the actual weight of the tractor with the bucket on? Also, what would be the best trailer to haul this tractor with?
