There's nothing wrong with a Cummins, other than it comes with a Dodge wrapped around it!

I have a Cummins and it's been pretty good, but I doubt I'll ever buy another one.

Cummins finally dropped the Dodge and picked up Ram!

Interiors are absolutely amazing now blowing Ford and Chevy out of the water in my opinion, hasn’t been that way, like ever… before

Sad it had to be outsourced overseas to get that right…

With THAT thinking, I don't own a Chevy, I own a Silverado. And Ford trucks aren't Fords any longer, they are now F150's! (I have a ford)

A dodge is a dodge is a dodge, I have one of those too!

I guess you buy a truck for the interior, I don't, I buy trucks for "reliability".

That doesn’t matter because a 2006 V-10 has more HP than a 1990 5.9

A V-10 is probably worth less than most Cummins trucks even the 1990 ones so that seems like a pretty fair comparison.

I’m on 2+ years of DEF on a 6-7 Cummins and havent had a problem, yet.
We werent talking problems, but efficiency.

My 2007 V70 is 100kg heavier than my 2000 S70 with the VP30 pump 2.5 TDI, but it gets two miles to the gallon more. When i go with the heavy trucks i get 54mpg, so efficiency is certainly there.

Sometimes it smells like i am welding on 3/16 steel plate with paint on the other side that gets thermally cracked without really burning, where it turns brown. I assume thats when the soot filter is regenerating.

Only passive dpf systems that solely rely on exhaust gas temperature to regenerate, can be a real PITA when your truck never works and gets to proper exhaust gas temperature...

A lot of these “problems” are overblown hype. Many by gasser guys.
....or passive regeneration systems in applications where a gasser would suit better, e.g. many short hauls with cold engine and lots of idling.

I ran my DPF'd V70 for 40.000km in just over a year, and i dont even notice its there. No warning lights, just the smell of burnt paint for a minute when its up to operating temperature, once every two months or so.

....on a sidetrack, now with Nissan on retreat from the full size pickup market, who next will offer the Cummins 5 liter V8 in a 3/4 ton style truck ? Ive heard Ram quits the Ecodiesel too..

I wish we could get more players in the PU segment.
I was thinking Jeep might give it a try again, or possibly International. There’s so much profit in trucks.
With the way the anti-fossil fuel winds are blowing here, one has to wonder if anything new will be offered
