Pop Eye's is starting cooks at $17/hr.

Wish we could get kids into aviation in high school so they could realize that kind of potential. The subject just does not come up there at all.

Working in almost 100% male Tool and Die and Construction and over 93% female in a Hospital environment I found very little difference in the break room conversation.

The men would ogle and make crude remarks about women and the same for the females about men.

We had a UPS driver ask for transfer because several women were constantly hitting on him just to see him get flustered... they also had a thing for fire fighters and would tour them around to show off and rate on a 1-10 scale...

I think with a big enough cross section everyone is represented.
Except women have fewer consequences for harassment then men do.

Very true…

Hospital CEO became very upset when make employee called in morning of for a very important pre construction meeting because his wife went into early labor…

CEO wasn’t angry until she learned it was their third child… she went on to belittle saying it’s not like he needed to be there for the show… saying first one OK but third one… give me a break!

For a longtime the younger RN would rate the male Docs on a scale of 1-10 on looks…

All I could think is in both situations it would be very different had men said what the women said.

The bachelorette parties seem to be as wild as bachelor… at least it sounds that way with strippers at both…

Local market/deli's offering $20. But it's a VERY busy store...you need to really hustle to work there.

As far as aviation goes, don't you pretty much need to be a career military pilot to have logged enough flight hours to qualify for these jobs, or have the the standards changed?

Not for maintenance work. It would pay to have some military experience for a maintenance job...but not as a pilot

Not the only path. You can build hours by instructing. Getting a job as a charter pilot. Working as a corporate pilot. Working for small air freight companies. GIS mapping companies. Small commuter airlines. I'm sure there's others.

Although I've heard that former military helicopter pilots are in high demand. Apparently the Vietnam era pilots are retiring NOW! and not many left. That was the biggest helicopter pilot training in history, as I've read.

I recall being in my yard in the 60s and in one day seeing about 200 helicopters flying over in large groups and landing at the local airport. As I recall, they were flying them to the west coast for shipment to Vietnam. Those flights were the pilots' cross country training. Yikes!

No. Our new hire pilots have either a HS diploma, or some college, plus their commercial ratings. I myself, have a HS diploma. I completed all of my aviation schooling at home studying, or renting an aircraft to learn maneuvers for my flight tests. No “formal” training. I’ll be at $275/hr in two weeks.
Our new hire pilots have no jet time, very little PIC time, no previous experience outside of limited flight instruction and total time of 1000 hours. They will start at $90/hr.

My son is 13 and has his heart set on being a pilot. He will complete his ratings in the course of two years, and can walk into what is now a $100k starting salary. His training costs as of today are $46k, which I have already set aside for him.

People going to college for 4 years to earn $60k are being gamed. I mean, really. They are borrowing to get a degree that barely lifts them above the average wage in America. I thought they were the educated ones?

I myself always wanted to be a pilot… but I thought it was out of reach. After 7 years as a programmer for a tool and die mfg… I trained a new hire who was working on his commercial ratings, and that got me on the right path. I’ve never looked back. I’m 45 now, and spent 20 years in this industry, and it has changed a lot. I started out earning $19k per year, with double the experience our current new hires have, and they will be right near $100k year one. It’s been a wild ride

I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with that statement. But I rarely fly commercial. :ROFLMAO:

I absolutely don't miss being an employee.
My own company is doing pretty good at the moment , especially after we found a new accounting services https://www.estonia-cоmpany.ee/accounting-services/ and started to save a decent amount of money every months. It is just a pity i didn't know about them earlier.
