Tractor
Mahindra 1533
Thank you Mwayne and Eagle1. I found my mechanics at another dealership. They were tired of being screamed at and quit the Mahindra dealership. The Both of them. I called and asked if they could fix my tractor. Yes. So, they spliced the wire, plugged in fuel filter, bled the lines and now the tractor will not crank. One of the guys called today and told me the computer wasn’t showing the problem but he really thinks it is wiring. He thought it was wiring before they put it on the computer. Now it is either the EUC or wiring harness. And without knowing we have an expensive problem because each of those cost close to $1000.00 a piece. He said he has changed out a lot of wiring harnesses because rats chewed through them but it always helped when he could see the evidence or rats. He said they can’t find anything. I told him to hold up because I may can fing them cheaper online but it still makes me wonder if there is something simple. Like a fuse under the dash, or maybe I am hoping it is. I checked Bill’s tractor and EUC is actually more for the 1538 than the mechanic can get them for. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

Hello? Anyone? I nearly bought a new tractor, Brandon at the dealership but I ended up calling Mahindra. They were no help so I asked to speak to a supervisor. I filed a complaint against the dealership. I was so hopping mad! I doubt anything will happen but now the other guys said it is going to cost $2000.00 plus labor. The dealership didn’t put either one of the fuel filters on correctly and now it will not crank. This is insanity!

Neither of your posts make any sense.

She has several different threads about the issue. She is frustrated and now has a tractor that does not run. I think the issue actually started some time back when water was introduced into her fuel system. She was able to get it going but had to unplug the water sensor to work on it.

A previous picture shows the rubber seal on the sensor connector not seated properly when plugged back in. This likely damaged the rubber seal.

Then at some point it was time to do the service on the tractor. It is unclear if there was an issue that prompted the service or if it was routine. The dealer she used has had some turn over with service technicians. Whoever did the service did not fit the fuel filter correctly and it was leaking. Also the water sensor wires were damaged and only one wire was connected. The connector seal was also missing. Likely these where damaged somewhat during the previous repair although no way to prove it.

The struggling dealer did not respond to the issues in a timely manor so she located the technicians that she had good service from that left the dealership. So she asked them to replace the sensor plug and get the tractor running again.

Now that the plug has been replaced the tractor will not run. The technician thinks it is either the ECM or the wiring harness. She is upset that it is going to cost several thousand dollars to fix and thinks the dealer should be held responsible. Likely that will not happen because she chose to take it to these other technicians.

This is where it was left on the other threads.

Are you mansplaning? I'm glad you did because I would never have gotten that out of the post.

My advice to the OP is to take a breath, getting upset will not help at this point. Next step is find all the documentation you can find about what has transpired and start really documenting the heck out of everything going forward. After collecting all the documentation, go thru it to see if you have a legal case, remember it is not a question of who is right or wrong it is a mater of who has proof. If you do not think you have a case then go find a GOOD mechanic, ask around for good referrals take it to him and get it fixed correctly. I did not search out the original post so I do not know what year or model it is. If you think you have a good case then take the documentation and lay it on the dealer, they can read the writing on the wall and if your documentation is strong they will fix it to be free of the case.

Above all keep your cool, an organized determined person with documentation to back it up is what will get their attention.

So you turn the key and nothing happens? If so
first thing I would check is all safety switches are wired and connected especially a neutral safety switch.
Is the a hydrostatic or geared machine?
To fry an entire harness does not seem feasible and as explained, rodent damage would be quite evident. I would not think this is a $2000 job of any sort but feel something is being missed.

I am not quite understanding when you say "they spliced the wire" and "plugged the fuel filter" as I did not follow an original thread.
I would follow a mechanical line of everything that was touched and bring it to spec. A fuse could have been blown if they created a short somewhere.

good advice, but if i do not miss my guess you are speaking greek to this young Lady, and I do not mean to speak down to her, just being real, I do not get from her post that she has any technical experience or inclination. I'm just guessing but i think she is asking for advice about how to get the dealer to "fix It".

but maybe I'm wrong and she is a first class DIY tractor mechanic. if that is the case i apologize ahead of time, I just do not get that from her post.

anyway good luck

as an aside the replacement of the ECU is very rarely the fix, the ECUs are durable and almost never fail, sensors and wiring are more likely to be the issue. in this case again I would take it to a reputable service center if you do not poses the skill to track down wiring issues yourself.

I assume that the current techs working on it are not reputable because they could hook up to the ECU and tell you exactly what the problem is in about 10 min. the fact that they are not reporting the codes thrown by the ECU in this case leads me to believe that they are in over their heads when it gets past replacing parts, hence the replace the ECU suggestion.

Thank you K5lwq! Thank you for calmly and politely explaining this. I don’t understand why others jumped me. But that is ok. Shame on them. Because I am a woman trying to clean up this old farm by myself I thought I would come here and check it out. I have learned a lot on here. I simply come on and read and learn. I have never done anything like this. But 4 years in and my tractor about paid off I am happy. I thought getting help and sharing ideas was what this forum was about. I have really enjoyed reading some of your posts and learning from you. Thank you to those guys that helped me put on my first oil filters and checking other things. I was so proud. So far some of you have helped me immensely. Thank you. I kept posting because I needed help and couldn’t get anyone to answer. The “retired dealer” was going through a nasty divorce and he was blowing up my phone. I was not going to get involved in that so there were some things said at the dealership that never should have been said from him. And they were said in front of customers that were not being waited on and in front of the new guys that do not know me. So later we had words. I got my tractor back with the plug attached to the water sensor just like I asked my mechanic guys to do for me. That is from the mechanics that left the Mahindra dealership. I trust them. That is all I wanted but they wanted to check it out when it wouldn’t crank. They did and they were just trying to help but dang, that was a lot of money to go through something that should be simple. That is why I kept posting. I just wanted my plug (dealership sold me the wrong part because they were getting interrupted) on the water sensor done correctly and my tractor back. I love my tractor and didn’t want another one. I got it back. The EUC could be taken from another tractor on the Mahindra lot and tried if everything checks out then there is a break in the harness. Or maybe not. I feel like it is something simple. But after taking a lot of deep breaths and a lot of praying I called and talked the manager at the Mahindra dealership and we had a great uninterrupted conversation and he is trying to help me. Then this past weekend at a family get together the “retired dealer” calls. I had to end up blocking him. I know who he is and what he is and 1. I am not going out with him and 2. He shouldn’t be in this, he is retired. 3. He is an a&&. The new manager listened to me this last week and was polite and professional. Very nice and wants to help. I am thankful. He asked me to make a video and send it to him of me trying to crank the tractor and then where it is leaking from the fuel filters. I did and he is sending guys down here to work on my tractor so no more transporting. When he saw the plugs and wires he said I can’t believe that was sent back to you that way. Well, me either but the “retired dealer” that wanted to take me to dinner and was blowing up my phone told me all about the turn over and what a mess everything was in. They are actually telling people the mechanic that put on my plug is on vacation. He quit his job there 4 months ago. So I already knew what was going on there because the dummy blowing up my phone told me everything going on but nothing is his fault. Yep. Gotcha. When he yelled at me on the phone after me telling him what was going on with my tractor I had to block him. I am proud of this old woman for putting in my fences and concreting every post in. I am proud of designing the layout for my animals. I am proud of designing my own barn and about to put the roof on and yes I will be doing it myself with my tractor because I am sick and tired of me researching, designing this project and men not listening when they don’t have a clue because it is not your regular barn. Give them some wood and they can build but they can’t follow directions and yes there was help from a friend that is an architect. And I am tired of being lied to and ripped off by men. So there is your “woman’s splaining” DaBear3428. I just got in from church and see that. Really?
Thank you so much for helping me in the past. I haven’t read the other lists so if you were trying to help me then thank you. I am exhausted from this. I still come on here and read your posts and that helps me learn. I have the manual’s from Bill’s Tractor that some of you suggested and they help me. I also see derogatory remarks that should never be posted. Uncalled for. We all need help at times and when you are ugly to people I want to ask why? I thought the forum was here to help each other and learn. So I will be back to read and learn some more. I will skip over the ugliness. Bless you. When people have trouble they certainly don’t need to be downgraded. They need to be lifted up. Now, with that being said I am going out to enjoy this beautiful day. I hope you all have a wonderful day! 😄Even you DaBear you ol grouch! 😂😂🤷‍♀️
