I never understood why suppressors were outlawed in this country. Or the hoops/cost/license crap you gotta go through to get one.

We require mufflers on cars and no open headers. Mufflers on outdoor power equipment, decibel lever standards mfgs are heald to....

Yet I can't put a muffler on the loudest things I own.

Unless you know you can get one clean. Someone is running stings for solvent traps and oils filters using online sellers. Can't say they hard to get all over the rest of the world but YMMV.

There is a differnce with sub-sonic 22 long. What the article you have sited doesn't address is any sort of larger calibers, so you are correct there. And the study is after all, a company that sells suppressors. Go to 9 mill, and see if you can even first buy subsonic 9 mill, and even if you can, its still louder than what is presented in popular media.

Yep. I was speaking strictly of .22.

The person said there wasn't much difference between suppressed .22 and subsonic .22, when there is in fact a HUGE difference.

So yeah, I'd like to see some hoops that had to be jumped through for suppressor ownership and transfer.

So yeah, I'd like to see some hoops that had to be jumped through for suppressor ownership and transfer.

Well here there are thousands of shots most weekends, everyone has a range on their property and the are several informal public shooting spots off the old haul roads. Yet amazingly no one dies or is shot, we save that for the trained hunters that will show up this weekend.

I could never live in place with enough people and crime to require such a system.
