If I had a neighbor like that and it bothered me I would just put some of my crap on his property.

Had two horses jump a fence here. One got in with the neighbors horses, got kicked enough to shatter a leg. Grandpa went over, we never saw it again. The other - I noticed horse shoe prints across its backside, talked to a neighbor, sure enough it had been there, hopped the fence to get out, then in, got beat up, then out, and back home. As far as other wildlife, I've only seen animal trails that go directly through or over. The only real deterrent is the "very high" chain link fence used to keep caribou, deer and elk contained, or multi strand electric. Cows don't jump, so thats a little different.I will be building a fence for horses in the near future, and I was told to not bother with barb wire for horses. Other than being pain to install and scratch your horses they dont do much to keep horses inside or wildlife out
Do you know the difference between flying squirrels and deer?Deer can jump a 12' fence with ease. Witnessed it personally many times.
In central WI the army ammo factory and grounds has a chain link fence surrounding the place (8000 acres of bunkers and storage). Funny watching the herds of deer migrate out during bow season (which is allowed within), then back in during gun season (which is allowed in the surrounding woods).Deer can jump a 12' fence with ease.
Ever seen a bull trying to get to a cow in heat? Four foot is easy for most cattle even my little Dexter. Fencing only works when the cows want it to and are not hungry or ***!!.Cows don't jump, so thats a little different.

One gut wrenching comedy - we dropped an electric fence to the ground to transfer a group to another pasture. One by one, they leaped over the now barely visible wire. We stood back like spectator judges. Can't say I've ever seen a bull jump very high though, sniffing or not.Ever seen a bull trying to get to a cow in heat? In CO we use a solid core or twisted wire that has a white plastic sheath on it. Expensive, but the wildlife can see it. Anyone that tells you barbed wire is wildlife friendly is lying or ignorant. We absolutely hate it.I need to add fencing near a neighbor who is doing things to make me want that. It's about 1,000 feet of fencing total.
For strength, I'm considering wood posts at end points, and also periodically along the run. The rest will be metal T-posts. 4' high.
My wife is concerned about wildlife and deer. So she is suggesting a "bare wire" for the top wire. Then used barbed wire for the rest.
Does putting a "non" barbed wire along the top make it a little more friendly for animals that jump?
