With the passing of Roy Jackson (RIP) there seems to be more spam in the morning. One new user, dimpy, had about 6 for reporting. I attribute this to Roy not getting to the threads before I and others report it.
My method of reporting spam is click on the "Report" button, type in "spam", hit report, go back to the spam post, hit reply, type in "reported", hit reply.
Seems to work, but I have no idea.
If there was a button for posts by a new user "report as spam" all that could be done with one click (maybe for the first 10 or 20 posts).

What you're doing works fine and I (and I'm sure the other moderators and Muhammad) appreciate it. (y)

I see a bunch come through in the wee hours. On most weeknights I'm up until 1:00am, and weekends I'm up until 2-3am, and blast those that have been reported or show up as new posts. Other mods wake up much earlier than I do and blast any they see. When I look again in the morning, most of the spam posts are already gone to spam heaven.

I think Roy kept earlier hours than most of us, however, it seems that all spam posts are getting reported in a timely manner and dealt with fairly quickly.

Thank you for fighting the battle.
Reporting spam is an honor all members should exercise.
Spam is an endless assault on humanity

Same as I do but I don't bother typing a reply 'reported' in post. I was told on another forum it causes an extra step for the moderators. May be different on this one.

What Mossy is for.
Contrary to popular belief, I don't read all the threads. It's not possible. We (the moderators, TBN staff, and general TBN community) rely on the users (you) to report them so we can take care of them in a timely manner. Thanks. ;)

Doesn't cause an extra step for us, but thanks for taking the time to consider it. :)

When a post gets reported as spam, we see a post in a queue. We look at it, and honest to goodness, Scout's Honor, there's a big old SPAM button we can push.:ROFLMAO: The post goes away. If it's a start to a thread, the entire thread and any replies goes away. It's fantastic.(y)

That's good to know. On occasion I've used the same method, but even since the passing of Roy, there are a few others who continue to report them. Doofy and one of the guys from the other side of the world are who I see doing most of them.

How can we get a button?
Is it like this?

I saw some posts yesterday that appeared to be spam of some sort and didn't know what to think about it. In the dozen years I've been on here, that was the first time, so somebody is doing a good job.

I reported one a while back which later gave me second thoughts, after a few people replied to it. The thread eventually disappeared though, so I must have been correct.

My method is to 'Post reply' "Reported" and then scroll up to the 'Report' highlight, click that and write "Spam". My CDO makes it save a wee bit of effort.

If it's a suspected advertisement or possible future spammer I'll just type my suspicions/reasons for bringing it to the Mod's attention without 'Post reply' "Reported" in case I'm wrong.

Posting that the spam thread has been reported saves others having to go through the process.

I've thought about an auto hide system that would hide posts after two members report them.
If that's not able to happen another idea would be ..
Could the thread title be "highlighted" in a color like red or pink ...after 2 reports..
so members know that its been reported and will be taken care of?

One minor problem with the current method of reporting is that you need to click and load the spam post. The spammers images are downloaded, including tracking images, and therefore counts as a click as the image is loaded. So the spammer gets a plus as they got a click and can report that to their advertiser of the product. Mostly one can tell from the title that a post is spam. What would be nice would be the ability to report it as spam without clicking the topic so nothing is loaded.

I saw a system once where any new members 1st post would not show until it was reiewed and approved.
