Rant on shipping

Is anyone still getting 1-2 day Amazon Prime delivery? When we're up in NH we rarely got things in less than 4 days but I expected that down here in Florida it'd be what it was in the past, 1-2 days. Nope, this year it's 7-8 days. Time to get out of the $139 membership.

Seems to be based on stock at local or remote warehouses.

Placed an amazon order yesterday evening. At my house before 8 am this morning. these items had overnight shipping listed on them. Most orders either next day or 2 day delivery

Not sure why Amazon is slow in Florida, maybe warehouse manpower shortage. Shipping in this area of mid-Tn. has always been very fast. Less than 1 hour from a local warehouse makes overnight delivery on certain items possible.

I don't order often enough from them to justify the expense of prime, but last couple years delivery times have been all over the place from a couple days to close to 2 weeks. I usually check the box to combine as much as possible into one package so I suspect that some items may come from different warehouses.
Going by return addresses on the label there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to where stuff ships from. I think the nearest warehouse is somewhere in Mass. (Stoughton?), but that address only rarely is where it seems to be shipped from.

I presume you're close enough to get delivery from one of their trucks? We're too far out...everything comes UPS or USPS which adds a day or two.

Some products still require a signature, alcohol, some medicines.

That’s funny, I ordered a freedom seed distribution device from South Carolina and it clearly said on the website that it must be signed for. My wife waited around all day and nobody came to tue door. When I got home I saw it leaking on the garage door frame in a bright box that said ———- armory and had a picture of a freedom seed distribution unit on in

That is correct. Probably 90% of my orders are delivered by their Amazon logo trucks or someone in their private vehicle working for them. Occasional package from USPS or UPS which does add maybe a day extra delivery time.

In the last year or so my normal delivery times to the post office from Amazon have gone from 3 days to 5 or 6. As far as I can see most everything gets routed through the Amazon Jacksonville FL warehouse to the mini cargo container at the rear of the post office at about 6 am.
