New Holland Workmaster 70
I am in the market for a grapple . Not wider than 55 inch but preferably 48 inch . The narrower grapples are normally rated for lower HP tractors . My tractor is 70 HP . I do not have the space between rows to work with a wide grapple rated for 70 HP . I am looking for a strong rugged grapple to remove small Christmas tree stumps and cleaning up the land . Any advice?

If I was buying a new one it would probably be like the frostbite. I’ve got a 54” EA, even on my big tractor it feels heavy and I very rarely use the full capacity.

Dig, pull, shake, back drag to fill hole and done.

I have one made by favor. It’s a heavy duty quality grapple that’s more than sufficient for a 70 hp tractor. Mine is 60” wide and they also make a 48” wide.

I was considering that as well. Who makes that one?

It’s a Danuser puller. It’s a mean tool. I used to have one in a deal that didn’t workout. If I didn’t have a mini x now I’d probably buy another one. It’s not the best for a typical grapple function though. It can pick up and carry stumps or a log but it’s not the best for carrying brush. I have a stump bucket now that came in a package deal. It’s not as good as the Danuser but for a retail price of 1/4 what the Danuser is it’s a pretty useful tool.

Check out Homestead Implements grapples. They are almost identical to the EA grapples, but slightly less expensive and free shipping. Their 55" is the smallest size they offer for tractors from 25 HP to 55 HP. They have two versions. The Pinnacle line is their deluxe version and then they have a less expensive Independence line. They also give a 10% discount for veterans. They are US Made and Veteran owned. Grapples - Homestead Implements

The Intimdator excels at stump and tree removal. Reaching up and tearing off head slapping limbs. Has been great for pulling out saplings and brush in tight areas with minimal ground disturbance. The smallest whippersnappers can’t hide. Clearing around fences, buildings, ditches where I can’t mow. Can pull and stack 10-20 small trees, grab pile and carry long ways down woods roads to dispose. Carrying or dragging longer and bigger stuff down narrow paths saves from cutting into sections.

Have long bottom root grapples too. 54” EA grapple is perfect for the B26. Would have to be very careful if used on M59. Have 72” skidsteer rated grapple for it. Your 70hp tractor is at least 6’ wide? Definitely understand wanting narrow for woods work. For our wooded hillside farm the grapples are in constant use. Springtime tree pulling season is now.
