successful morning, broken water valve replaced, brass was paper thin where it broke in half.
Paul overhauled the spigot, got that working nicely and Ken reran a lot of a/v wires for me, hiding it all so it looks nice.
We also talked about what was involved with an inverter and where it might fit. It's doable without too much complication.
That's a future to do

   / Good morning!!!! #166,193
35 and cloudy @ 14:30 ... which I think is pretty similar to what it was the last time I reported in. Calling for a high of around 41F today.

Got two buckets of whole corn put out for the deer first thing yesterday.

Then got roped into lending The Woman a hand. She was on a cleaning tear and wanted to wash walls in the living room so I moved the tv and the stand it sits on out from the wall, brought step ladder in from the garage, moved rolling scaffold over to where She wanted to start, etc. Also did some vacuuming up on the ceiling and beams where She wasn't able to reach.

Also had to pulverize some TSP substitute in the mortar and pestle that drew moisture and was about like concrete.

Need to take the tv off the stand today and put some felt pads on the bottom of the legs so it slides easier.

After that I pulled a couple of 2 x 6's down from the lumber rack and started sanding on those. Didn't get too far along on that before I decided that I really needed to have a better idea of exactly where I was going to mount the face vise on the workbench, in light of the various obstacles (posts/legs, dog holes, dovetail grooves, etc.)

So I got most of the measurements on the vise and headed downstairs and modeled a fairly close approximation of it that could be used to figure out the mounting location and what was necessary as far as shims go to mount it:

Local grocery had had corned beef briskets on sale the other day so The Woman picked one of those up and fixed corned beef and cabbage along with potatoes and carrots yesterday.

Got the call for dinner just about the time I was finishing up modeling the vise, was vary tasty ... although The Woman complained the vegetables "had no flavor" (a frequent complaint ... about many things ... )

After dinner I removed the wallboard panel in the main bathroom and retrieved the faucet knob.

Then I headed back down and finished up working on the bench top, putting in the dovetail grooves and dog holes so I could actually see where the obstacles would be (theoretically anyways)

Added a 2 x 6 on the bottom in the center to provide some support for the cabinetry and drawers and got the lengths on some of the dimensional lumbers pieces so they can be cut to length.

That 2 x 6 in the center on the bottom should allow picking up the workbench with the pallet forks.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Hopper feeder probably due to be refilled at this point (was half empty yesterday when I filled the deer feeder)

Get some dimensional lumber parts cut to length.

Sand the same.

More clean up out in the garage probably.

Maybe a shave and a haircut.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday ... (y)

RS - those are some pretty nice plans-what SW do you use to do the 3d layout?

A very ancient version (2.9.3) of auto des sys' "formZ" ...

In fact, it's so old that the dongle (hardware key) connects via the Apple Desktop Bus (long absent on "newer" computers) ... via a Griffin iMate ADB ---> USB adapter ... which is slightly flaky.

Glad to hear you have a willing trainee ... ;)

Hope you get to feeling better soon ... (y)

Good morning to all. A damp foggy 57 degree start headed to a too warm mid 80's day. Lot's to do as usual. But have to help F-I-L cut horns on a cow this morning. Hope not a 1/2 day fiasco.

Boeing KC-46 Pegasus, latest aerial refueling to replace the KC-135. Need to keep our boys in the air! Introduced 2019 still building them out.
All have a great day!

You can't kick @ $$ without gas.

We have guests with a baby this weekend, and some friends came over with their baby, so we have 2 babies in the house for a while.

Yep I miss Topps and all.

Some of you may remember Mikim. His grandson (whom he actually adopted as his own son) is getting baptized either next week, or the week after. I've been asked to stand with him during the ceremony.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 11C and it's presently 20.5C, calm & overcast.

Well, apparently it's a 'holiday' in Tasmania celebrating the "8 hour day". Other States/Territories in Aus are (or not) calling the day something else. Being retired, most of these occasions come as a surprise.

I do have a Church Council meeting this early evening (1630).

That's about it, take care all.
