I didn’t get my painting finished but, on the other hand the new sliding patio door replacing the upstairs french doors is in and looking great. Even better, I am convinced we fixed the weather driven leak. 🤙🤙

Aaarrgh! Got the tractor stuck trying to bring the trailer over to where the new oak rounds are. I was using the tracks from the big Hydro One machine, which are very solid, But you have to drive right down the middle of the track because there is soft snow on either side

Unfortunately, I slipped off the track, and got stuck.

So I had to leave it there, and I will go over with the ATV and try to winch it out tomorrow. Had to leave it uncovered, and of course, after having a week or more of no snow at all it decides to snow tonight.

Not such a good day.

Good Evening Everyone - I could wait an hour and make it a legitimate Good Morning, but I'm here now.

It's been a busy weekend and I'm getting tired. Went to a Celebration Of Life Service yesterday, for a 55 yr old friend who died unexpectedly. A story of Faith, Struggles, Pain, and Redemption. Large family of solid believers, so this was tough. I had lunch with him and others, only a month ago. It was good to be there with the family though.

I have a typical week of bookkeeping, taxes and errands, but I also need to buy a spare tire (replacement, has sidewall puncture) for my flat deck trailer. There are 3 friends lined up to borrow the trailer in the next few weeks, after it sits on the property all winter. It's an easy way to help them out though.

The Winter Snowfall is almost behind us, and the 2 feet of snow on the yard is starting to melt ... the transition to mud begins.

Eager to get my GMC Tracker back on the road again soon. The El Camino will probably wait till early May.

cheers all

Bill,
for us Easterners, the ICW is the IntraCoastal Waterway. It's what I took my boat on going down to Florida, to stay out of the ocean.
you must be on vacation with Buppies, watching the water go by....

that youtube camera I posted recently looks right at the ICW, where it is pretty narrow, like going down a street, but of water.
all those bridges in Florida makes progress slow, manatee zones everywhere, one million dollar home (ten million....) after another along the
way.

But i"m sure ICW means something totally different in Ontario... ;)
Drew
I was referring to the Inter Coastal Waterway, my grandparents lived at 1905 Calais Dr. Miami Beach back in 1953 thru 1959.I spent a few summers down there.

Coffee is brewing. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 33° with up to 3" of snow. Good visit with son and family. Got home and neighbor called to ask if I wanted to help remove his hot tub. Got it away from house with tractor. Took Sawzall to it and cut it up into small pieces. Have a coffee get together with other retirees this morning. No plans for rest of the day.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

41.7F, going to drop a bit more before slowly climbing into mid/upper 40’s - bit of a change from the last week, and going to get chillier the next couple days.

Woodstove is a wonderful thing - two nights in a row with no HVAC noise. But it was offset by the druggies across the street, several quick visits between 0000-0200 by a vehicle with a “sub-optimal” exhaust system. . .

Yesterday, we saw the Air Force Spirit of America Concert Orchestra perform, wonderful show, but once again, the Merchies were neglected in the Services Salute. The new Space Force Hymn was included, and at least two audience members got to stand up for it (moms, of course).

went in for a couple hours OT yesterday before show, very few other people showed up. Supervisor was glad to see two functioning bodies walk in.

going to pick up the two vintage chainsaws after work - I think the worst aspect of them is they are 32:1 mix, not 50:1 like all my other 2-cycle implements. I would love to get my hands on a Homelite bowsaw bar, but they are quite rare and highly sought after ‘round here for Christmas Tree farming ( and priced accordingly…).

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

Good morning, the low temperature is 19 and the high going to 23°F. Wind NE 11 mph. 60% chance of flurries and it is flurrying (light snow) now. About 1/2" on the deck so far.

My tax paperwork is all done and should be in the accountants' hands by Tuesday. I sent it 'registered mail' as usual.

The two filters on the dug well water system come apart easily. Both have charcoal filters in them. They really don't need any filters/ cartridges in them, the water is only used for washing vehicles and the mower deck. That well is only 21' deep and usually goes dry every summer. The main source of water for the house comes from a 176' deep drilled well.

As for the spring ahead/fall behind time change bovine scattering, I vote for DST all the time. But the Ontario goobermint says that Quebec, New York and Manitoba gotta be on the same page too or it wont work. I call BS on that too.

My cold is gone out of my chest, thankfully, now all in my head. Went to bed at midnight and was up at 3. Started watching Wind River last night and finished it this morning.

IF we get 4" of snow I will plow it today. Just don't hold your breath.
Other wise today is an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

38 going to 51 and drizzly.

I managed to finish cutting a load of firewood as the rain and snow arrived. We saw a lot of snow mixed in, but too warm to stay. Check, you must have gotten it all this year. My wife had made a nice hot pot of chili to warm me up.
