Best way to get diesel into the tractor?

I've got a few of these kicking around, and absolutely love them.
Take one of these, and put the fuel can in your loader bucket, get a longer piece of tubing that will connect this pump from the can in your tractor loader to the fill cap of you tractor with the loader lifted high enough to be above your tractors fuel tank. Get the siphon started with this pump and sit back and wait until it is full or the can is empty.

Cheapest option I know of that will work. I have used one of these pumps to fill K1 heaters for a couple decades. They work and are cheap.

Makes logical sense. The potential drawback is it potentially makes it easier for a thief to steal the tank with the fuel.

I'm thinking about a drum myself to reduce the storage footprint of having multiple 5 gallon cans and to avoid lifting them to fill the tractor.
I received the Uline forklift drum strap. This is a metal clamping strap with forklift pockets. And I got a barrel dolly. These 2 items will allow the barrel to safely moved with forks or put on a dolly to roll around the storage area.
Plans are to I will mount a filter and pump on the barrel. Now its loaded in the van (it has E track on the walls and floor tie downs) and I'm heading to town for 55 gallons of red diesel. :)

The best fuel storage and filling solution varies depending on usage, storage space, budget, DIY capability and how much junk you can repurpose. One size does not fit all.
Very true. The Toolcat has a side fill like a car or truck and was a pain to fill with my jugs. I found the perfect large funnel that I can attach to the TC to dump my fuel into. I can dump half the jug, set the can down, dump the rest in. It is much easier than the top fill my tractor had.

My 773 model has a side fill too. So glad I got a high flow pump now so I could ditch the ladder and funnel.

All my life I poured fuel out of 5 gal oil buckets with the open end on the bottom, till I saw a guy pouring hyd oil with the open sprout on the top, never spilled a drop and never starved for air. For a long time I put a drum on a bout 6 ft high rack and let it drain out. Now its too much trouble getting it up there, back to buckets.

I see 2.2 gal/min on most of the battery ones (on LEVEL transfer - who does that???). What's the lift range? Can it pump from the ground to the tractors fuel tank (hood level)???
I fill big excavators that are way higher than my fuel tank. I have two hoses put together for length.

Another vote for the 2 D battery pump.
On my B7800 a 5 gal can just fits between loader arm and engine compartment.
and the 2d battery pump is perfect choice for me.

That’s what I’ve been using for 8 years now.
I have 3, one for nonE gas, diesel & DEF. Harbor freight, good price.

I use a hand pump on the storage tank for off road diesel. Put it on a steel skid so I can lift it with loader and pallet forks. Giving me the choice to go to the filling station for off road diesel or have the truck come and fill it. Lots of tanks come up at farm auctions very cheap.

I've either a 2 1/2 gallon or 5 gallon plastic containers that I sit on the food well area of the tractor and use a Northern Tool battery powered pump to pump the fuel into the tractor tank on top. Has auto shutoff.

I'm 81 years old; the tank is in the cowl behind the hood of the 3054 Kioti. I pick the 6.5 gallon can up and pour the fuel into the tank. End of story
I rotate the handle 80 years old end of story

That's great; I put about 100 hours a year on the tractor, snow blowing the drive, chipping brush from blowdowns and maybe pulling a few stumps (small ones). I don't need a bulk tank and the fuel station is a quarter mile up the secondary road, but I don't like getting the tractor out on the roadway, thus the fueling method

The fill neck on my tractor is in front of the left floor board. Easy peasy, set it on the floor board tip it and dump it in the 4" diameter opening.
One of the differences I love over my old 8n, with the fuel tank above the engine, and the battery and starter below the fuel tank opening.
I am getting older and hoisting a five gallon fuel can to shoulder height and emptying it there was not fun 10 years ago, don't miss that at all.
And I don't have to contend with the modern slow glug feature either, an aftermarket vent cap solved that!
