Good morning!!!!

thanks guys
a miserable morning followed up by a better afternoon
tylenol and some coffee got rid of most of my headache
oncologist trying to rush schedule a CT scan to rule out the bad stuff.
But I feel better, didn't eat anything weird last night so ?
It really did come on fast, so food poisoning is a definite issue.
And the pain in my gut is going away.
sunny and nice out, but will wait til tomorrow to mow the lawn

rescheduled the rv for Friday, now to just chill. I am really getting sick of trips to the bathroom...though after one "fruitful" session earlier today I felt much
better. Trying to drink a lot so I don't get dehydrated.

a waste of a day but so be it
Glad your starting to kick that nasty whatever grip you Drew.

50F on/off rain showers with down pour thrown in also....like now.

Soft maples and lilac brushes have budded over night. (y)

My plans after work cut down clean up to large spruce trees...that's no go. :( so I think I do my recliner exercises until dinner. ;)

Evening plans...nope.

Have good evening all.

But I mowed a little bit to try it. With deck all way up, it’s scalped the ground. I think the lift arm from left to right got twisted, will have to check that out more.

Yup a tad off  not unless your clearing stone from lawn or looking for mud worms as we say up here. ;)

my luck seems to have run out
no illnesses last three years, dodged it all.
last night at midnight ran for bathroom with the heaves, then diarrhea kicked in, pounding headache, just feel miserable.
took covid test, negative, but realistically too soon. They think GI bug.
what really worries me is a pain in my belly too close to adrenal glands, which got cancer.
so likely a bunch of tests later this week.

had to cancel rv trip to garage tomorrow to put on new rear tires, going to spend the day in bed
Hopefully it was just some gas station food…

FEEL BETTER!

Where was the restaurant? One of the things I miss about leaving NJ is good Cuban and Portuguese/Brazilian food that was convenient to get to! Also Philippine food - I haven’t had Crispy Pata in over a decade —and i miss it.

A chilly 41F and cloudy @ 13:30, only heading up to 43F for the high. Hear winds howling, calling for occasional gusts over 40 mph. Some rain headed in.

Having first cup of coffee, tasting mighty good.

Woman just headed over to take care of neighbor's dogs for the morning.

She commented yesterday that the oldest Red Bud tree was starting to bloom, indeed it is ... I hadn't even noticed:

Got remainder of electric motor painted yesterday.

Tore down arbor for close inspection and deep cleaning, including more removal of contact cement (of course ... ):

Pulley set screws were seriously over-torqued, couldn't break them loose with a T-handle wrench even after penetrating oil overnight and heating.

HF hex bit didn't have enough reach to engage the set screws so I took a punch and beat out the bit portion a little from the drive end which gave me enough reach to to engage the screws. B & D electric impact made short work of removal after that.

Both the pulley for the arbor shaft and the one for electric motor were a little scruffy:

... so they got the clean up treatment with the jitterbug sander and a couple of wire wheels in a die grinder, after scraping the heavy crud off them with a razor blade:

Both bearings seemed good so I reassembled after that:

There may be an issue with some wear on the shaft where the blade rides. If that turns out to the case, I do have a "spare" used arbor I got with the parts I picked up the other day that is in better shape on that portion of the shaft. It needs new bearings ... but those came with the arbor ... ;)

After that I got the arbor assembly reinstalled on the saw:

Also got almost all the parts for the tilt shaft assembly installed but was missing a 3/16 x 1 1/8 roll pin that apparently got lost in the process. So will have to run down to the corner hardware store and pick one up so I can finish that up ... after I get a fire going up in the shop to warm things up.

Beyond that the agenda for today is:

1. Get electric motor mounted in the cabinet and pulley and fan reinstalled, along with the fan cover.

2. Get new belts installed. I have a new set sequentially-numbered 1/2" x 25" Goodyear belts that came with the parts I got the other day. Supposedly, the spec for the belts is a matched set of 1/2" x 25.5" belts, at least according to VintageMachinery.org ... so hopefully these will work.

3. Get the cord cut for the motor and get it wired up to the VFD.

4. Get Run/Stop switch wired up to the VFD.

5. Wire up an outlet on my 220v extension cord.

6. Test saw and motor ... after checking to make sure all the bolts that need tightened up are secure.

7. Take measurements to fab a mobile base.

Have not heard anything from the lawnmower shop about picking up the Cub which is very disappointing to say the least ... :(

Hope everyone has a good day ... (y)

Drew hope everything is alright and you feel better very soon.
Re: roll pins

one of the better items at Horrible Fright are the assortment boxes of things like E-clips, hitch pins, cotter pins… and roll pins. Why just buy one pin? You know you will need them for another project…
