Sounds like progress, Dennis
You could do that, it would absolutely work just fine. Mine are in between a cabinet and some shelves against a wall so they pretty much stand up by themselves in that barrel.I have found with barrels that it helps to put a crossbar or two (1/2 or quarters) with keeping longer handle tools more upright.
I passed on the hybrid, Kyle. Four wheeled vehicles in my garage tend to sit more than they get driven, and that's bad medicine for the big battery in a hybrid, even worse for an all electric vehicle.
Here's what Toyota has to say about the engine in the gas car:
2.5-Liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder DOHC D-4S Injection Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes; 203 hp @ 6600 rpm; 184 lb.-ft. @ 5000 rpm
And here's the same info about the gas engine in the hybrid (almost word-for-word the same):
2.5-Liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder DOHC D-4S Injection Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Eco, Normal, Sport and EV drive modes; 176 HP @ 5700 rpm; 163 lb.-ft. @ 5200 rpm
To which they add:
208 combined system net horsepower
And here are the ratings for the electric motor in the hybrid:
HP - 118, (88 kW)
Torque - 149 lb.-ft. (202 Nm)
Seems to me, combined HP should be 203 + 118 = 321 HP, but apparently the relationship isn't additive.
The gas car weighs 3310 lbs., 3480 for the hybrid. At 170 lbs. that's not as much a battery weight penalty as I'd have thought, but it's still like carrying around an extra person all the time.
Now here's what all the fuss is about, the MPG rating and cost (base model LE figures).
City/highway/combined MPG of 28/39/32 for $26,220 for the gas car
City/highway/combined MPG of 51/53/52 for $28,355 for the hybrid
It's also worth noting that the local dealer had 15 gas Camrys to choose from, but only 1 hybrid. And they're not advertising the price of the hybrid, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a very healthy "Market Adjustment" being applied in their favor.
So for me, who does almost no city driving, a gain of 14 MPG highway at a cost of $2,135 and a lot more complication, stuff to break, and much more difficulty to purchase, wasn't worth it.
my luck seems to have run out
no illnesses last three years, dodged it all.
last night at midnight ran for bathroom with the heaves, then diarrhea kicked in, pounding headache, just feel miserable.
took covid test, negative, but realistically too soon. They think GI bug.
what really worries me is a pain in my belly too close to adrenal glands, which got cancer.
so likely a bunch of tests later this week.
had to cancel rv trip to garage tomorrow to put on new rear tires, going to spend the day in bed
Sounds like food poisoning.
When we had covid a month ago there was no throwing up or diarrhea stomach pains.
It sounds like a bug or some bad food to me. I hope you get feeling better quickly. Prayers you don't have too much anxiety. No one can add an hour to their life by over worrying.thanks guys
a miserable morning followed up by a better afternoon
tylenol and some coffee got rid of most of my headache
oncologist trying to rush schedule a CT scan to rule out the bad stuff.
But I feel better, didn't eat anything weird last night so ?
It really did come on fast, so food poisoning is a definite issue.
And the pain in my gut is going away.
sunny and nice out, but will wait til tomorrow to mow the lawn
rescheduled the rv for Friday, now to just chill. I am really getting sick of trips to the bathroom...though after one "fruitful" session earlier today I felt much
better. Trying to drink a lot so I don't get dehydrated.
a waste of a day but so be it
Stupid spill chick.....Drips irritate me as well………
Is this snapper a rider of self propelled? I have a self propelled snapper that I'm not using.I have the snapper going again....but it was dark when I test drove it. It started slipping the belt or the pulley when in deep grass. I couldn't tell which was the slipping. Snappers use shims to take some slack out of the belt. The pulley on top of the blade's spindle shaft drives the blade with ONLY a friction fit of about maybe .5" area. The nut is supposed to be tight as a mad male gorilla can get it. I guess I wasn't mad enough when I tightened it. It still needs a new fuel line and inline filter. I think it needs a new spindle shaft too, it sure vibrates. My FIL cracked the blade when he hit a stump. I replaced the blade with a used blade that is good, but the spindle has a piece of flat bar that the blade attaches to. That is what's bent I believe.
