Im not actually sure I agree that newer vehicles will last 30 years. There are so many electrical and integrated circuit components on them now they are just 1 big computer. Maybe 10 years.

Yes and what are the chances that the manufacture will have part available for today's EV car 10 years from now ?

And we haven't even got to the wind turbine blades that can not be recycled and must be replaced after 20 years.

Where do they go to die, one might ask, they go to a landfill next to your moms house.
All the wind turbine re-power projects I worked on had the turbine blades changed out at 12 years.
Its turbulance caused blade flutter that damages them.
Hummm, Wind turbines are all cited in high wind/turbulance locations.

We just got back from the store, my wife's Mom bought it new. I wonder if new cars will be around in 68 years?

Tesla has a 8 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first, with minimum 70% retention of Battery capacity over the warranty period.

I'm pretty sure most people will hit the 8 years long before the 150,000 miles because of limited distance per charge capability. Tesla can loose 30% retention of battery capacity over the 8 years ... that's a significant loss of capability.

With the replacement cost of the Tesla battery being well over $100,000 I would think most people would opt not to replace the battery which makes the Tesla life-span starting at 8 years.
