Bear attack in AZ

/ Bear attack in AZ #61
As I just posted, the fine is the same for injuring as it is for killing. Also, as another posted above there are provisions for animals which are harassing wildlife.

I don't condone intentionally injuring an animal so that he can run off to suffer, for any reason. That will never change, I was raised differently.
1. In 40 years no one was able to find any, so, the fine is $0 vs See above:)

2. Remember about the elbows? When you are in his shoes, you might change your opinion, for us who does not have such problem it is easy to judge from our tall tree.

OK, i'm done with this. Not trying to convince anyone, I just told the story, take it or leave it. Thanks for the time and attention ;)

Kill - it means very high probability of $1,000s of fines in case of bear and potential jail time in addition to very, very steep fines in case of cougar (Most of them have a GPS attached, so SSS is a little problematic there). Leave alone? just seat and watch how they kill your livestock? What is your choice? remember, it is Komifornia. The life of a cougar is more valuable than humans.

But he is CA, remember? At the beginning i always was really angry, but then, after spending long time there i saw no other choice, either gut shot or lose cows. Myself i understand it but still oppose it and personally would not do it.

The cows are not his, he just takes care of them during spring-summer-fall time and his salary depends on how many cows he returns back on November-December to the owner.

So, what would you do boys, a-SSS and get fined or arrested, b- leave them be and watch your cows get killed by thieves or c- do what he does?
Yup life in CA sucks even if it could be a paradise. I'm pretty sure I could find a way to make collars go a long way from home. I'm sure they find the collars and attached cat/bear anyway.
I just can't see myself doing that to any critter. Now I know some people I could without flinching. Still not my style and I kill and butcher 99% of the meat we eat with some sort of firearm and there are plenty of wildlife thieves that are put down.

Who sees a Kubota tire and who sees what I almost stepped on at 5am?
Yep, we have those too. Around here we wear boots and make noise when outside. They will try to get away, but some are just more hungry than scared. I carry a sidearm when outside for the slow learners. This one was next to my vegetable garden. The chicken wire over the bottom of the 2x4 fence was supposed to keep the rabbits out. They must be able to fly here.

That’s all fine and good till some “hero” like you does it while at the same time taking out our little towns only supplier of Mama Burgers, Root Bear Floats and Summer jobs for our youth, happened to our town when I was back in Canada.

Thanks for the effort but please balance your harsh actions with the potential impact it may have to the community. How are you going to explain to your child that YOU are the reason they can no longer get handed a double dip cone at that boarded up window over there.

The burger you lose may be your own!!!

How nice to be compared to some meme meant to be funny.
The hero comment was nice....LOL. Of course the term "Hero" is subjective.

Let's see, I have four kids and a regular bear problem. Not of my own making, I can't control my neighbors and their lack of common sense with wildlife nor can I control the government making a Bear "Preserve". I have had multiple bears blocking my path back to my house and not move on, regardless of yelling, making myself look larger than I am, shooting in the dirt to scare, using TWRA rubber buckshot rounds and with TWRA permission buckshot in the rump.

What I can control is multiple bears ransacking my chicken coops, rabbit cages and have had a couple as bold as going after my dogs. If they try and get my trash, I over look that. If they try and get my feed storage, I over look that. Going after my dog, going after my animals, and making it so if I walk out my back door I have to be armed is a problem. Literally opened the door last year to a bear 10 feet away, it looked at me as I yelled and slammed the door only to just casually walk to the edge of my driveway and sit down.

Have no fear though, me dropping a problem bear will only have a positive outcome for my community. The elderly liberal couple across the street, have zero issues with me using my firearms to chase a bear off for them. The young newly married couple with toddlers have zero issue with me helping to make sure their chickens and rabbits are safe. Of course they don't believe in firearms or hunting either.

"Hero"...LMBO. I prefer to live a life following the Lord and doing what's right because it's right regardless of how others feel.

Get a quiet gun and solve those problems. Poison works too. I know a man that killed four in one day.

Yep and population expanding.

Bear has ransacked the cabin several times and severed the propane tank line twice.

The only thing the city police said is do not hurt or harass the bear or I will be cited.

I said are you kidding me?

The watch commander said the bears were here first.

The cabin, built in 1960 never had a single problem of any sort until the last 3 years and bears open walk the neighborhoods of Lake Tahoe.

My friends in bear country Alaska do not go out unless armed but bears in Tahoe have nothing to fear when the law has their back.
Shoot. Shovel. Shut Up.

Killing a bear or worse a cugar is a huge problem, can go to a jail time in CA, so either SSS, or do what he does.
I’m not sure using as an example, the same state that just banned small gas engines, lawnmowers etc (and who’s Governor it was just shown on the news wants to ban chocolate milk, why, aren’t African American cows worthy of selling their product like white cows are permitted to do, what’s wrong with chocolate milk Newsom, you racist) but I digress.

I’m not sure any normal human being could spend a full 24 hours in Komifornia without unknowingly committing at least 1 felony, 5 misdemeanors, a handful of civil infractions, moving violations and others. 🤣

My dogs will let me know if there is a predator around, or I will see bear scat, tree damage, dug out yellowjacket nests, etc. I saw a black bear cub on the road half a mile away a couple years ago. I have never had a problem with them. I had a 120 lb. Large Munsterlander who tackled a cougar once. He ended up with a few holes in him, and so did the cat. Both survived.

Bears may be afraid of dogs but sadly (at least with our Canadian mountain lions) while that dog is out scaring the bear off your property, they can actually lure big cats in that otherwise wouldn’t have visited…
